Honestly, I tihnking he was talking about the game. I am sure Wii U is more powerful, just Vigil wont push the Wii U version to look better is all. In fact, I was expecting this. i don't see third party games coming to Wii U this year to look much if at all better than the other versions. Just look at the Xbox 360 launch: the early 360 games up until Gears of War didn't exactly look "streets above" PS2/Xbox/Gamecube games.

We all know the fanboys will start using that in their arguments against Wii U. Kids these days(I feel old) are so annoying some of them are grown men too.

Seriously guys, just look at what they showed in 2011. If that's not AT LEAST half way towards next gen graphics, I don't know what is.

That tech demo isn't even halfway towards the next generation.

I game on PC mostly these days, I really don't see anything at all that strikes me as being significantly better than modern console graphics unfortunately. Maybe I'm just being a fanboy, but for some reason the Wii U tech demos really impressed me. The lighting effects especially seemed miles ahead of current gen tech. Of course, then we need to ask the question of what next-gen graphics actually are. As much as we'd love for all of the new consoles to have Samaritan demo level graphics, that just isn't happening IMO.

Yeah and the hardware was nowhere finished and the tech demos were still on par or even better visually the what's on xbox360 and ps3. Garden tech demo ring a bell?

Not entirely sure where you're going with this.

I'm just saying that that particular demo could have been done on another current generation platform. Considering the history of Zelda tech demos, I'm sure the actual product will be more impressive, but I'm doubtful it would still be that much better than what current generation consoles could do. I don't expect bleeding edge from Nintendo, but I do expect a hefty upgrade from the Wii.

hermmadermmm, i really dont know how to comment on this, i would hope this is not true, but i think that guy was telling the truth specifically to the wiiu or the game

2 things that could leaven this quotes stand is that the guy saying it is not particularly all knowing about the hardware
and he could just be talking about darksiders 2 to relative to ps3 darksiders 2

darksiders relative to ps3 is an obvious, you may have the game using a controller and perhaps loading terrain and game faster with what quarter of a speed boost i hope it has over ps3, but thats pretty much it, course, ill just continue hoping its more powerful than that, but a gamecube powered 3ds was what i originally thought, its actually only past n64 power, i cant say its a powerhouse because most likely, it will be less than or (if nintendos crazy) equal to next gen

What can they add upon the tech demo shown in Iwata's garden to make it seem next generation?

Im not sure which one you guys saw.... there are lots of youtube videos of the demo. but the hd close up version shows the graphics are easily better than this gen.

The real "issue" with that Zelda one is that it isn't very complex. And a lot of this can be attributed to the fact that its run within a closed environment. If there is any possibility that my PS3 or 360 can produce a tech demo of similar quality, then I can't say it's really next generation. That isn't to say that the tech demo doesn't look nice.

they will be no console that can get a pc performance. If a developer built something to be equal in graphics with a pc, its not pc fault, but the developers.. lol So lets dont, speak about day dreams, lets face the reality. Pc is the best platform for video games, but its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO versitile platform, that company's scare of it.. and abandoned it..

The point is, wii U must push the publishers for better games.. thats it. Not only innovative games, but better games in all aspects. So we get also better imports in the pc version of the games..

I... don't believe that.

But still, I don't really need high end PC quality performance from the next generation consoles. Nintendo's going HD, and that's really all that matters to me right now. Whether developers decide to do the bare minimum with the console rather than something extra is something else.

I thought the water was the most impressive part of the Iwata's Garden demo.

Closed environment?
All consoles are closed.
Or do you mean it's not free-roam Link in a huge Hyrulian field?
If they did that, what would that show? A vast green emptiness?
The Zeldo demo was really about lighting and "HD", I think there's some tessellation in there too.

Some people say a lot of the details are beyond the PS3 and 360.
Graphics are to the point that you can't really notice what's different, imo.

Something along those lines. Actually, one criticism of Zelda games are large barren fields. Seeing a field that isn't barren, and has a lot going on would be pretty cool.

But you do seem to understand my point - The demo isn't so much an example of what the next generation is, but what type of jump we should expect from the Wii to the Wii U.

Trudat, Wii to Wii U will be a massive leap.

It won't be such a big jump from PC/360/PS3 to Wii U.
If we're wrong, let's party.
If we're right, let's play great games for at least 3 years when we might see a slight dip in quantity, but still have Nintendo quality titles after that.
