Do you own a 3DS?
If yes:
You're the first person who's said the resolution is crappy in the situation of owning it, then talking about it's resolution after playing many games on it.
If no:
Buy one.

Yes I have one and I love it, and maybe crappy isn't the right word, but it just should and could have been better. Even my budget smartphone has a higher res. Games like Resident Evil would really benefit from it.

I didn't ever buy Nintendo systems for their awesome tech, but still it could have been better.

Then when you're finished thinking "Yes I would.", go google "DPI" or "Human Eye", or maybe "Pixel Density".
