"Sources are now spilling the beans on exactly what we can expect from Orbis, or the PlayStation 4, when it is arrives. For the most part it is about what we already knew, with no real surprises; and it looks to be a very smart decision for AMD.

If the tech specs are correct, the latest info has the PS4 showing the unit being built from what amounts to off-the-self parts. The unit will use the AMD A8-3850 APU and Radeon 7670 GPU. The AP-3850 APU is said to clock in at 2.9GHz and it will be a quad core chip, while the HD 7670 which will offer 1GB of RAM and while we have heard rumors of a projected clock speed, we would wait till we are closer to release before we predict what this will actually be.

As we told you previously, this selection does take back from the PC side, but there still a lot more questions than answers. Our contacts in the development community seem divided on what the box can actually deliver in terms of performance. According to one developer, '…we really don’t know how well the unit can perform, but so far it has been on par with the current generation.'"

Looks like the PS4 is also getting the on par rumors, lets see where this goes.

To me, this kind of sounds like they are saying, "We just got some really early devkits and we have no idea how to use them yet other than trying to put stuff from the current generation on it."

Xbox is on par with past gen hardware.
Really guys, I had a talk with Epic about it, they said it won't even support UE3 and have no plans to support it with software.

Ue3 runs on current gen lol ( i know ur joking) but this rumor is BS and so was the wii u one that was similar. Does this pretty mucg confirm all next gen consoles to be similar in power? Thats what im guessing considering they could be talking about early dev kits

U wrong, the gpu they pick, is the same as the xbox one 6670, but with less power consumption.

As for the CPU, wii U wins in both... xbox and ps4. even the best AMD apu, is weaker than the worst power7 cpu by 100-200% Thats why all this bad rumors came out, because the new xbox and ps4, will be around 4x better than the current gen.. So they dont want to speak that nintendo will be equal or better. I believe they are about to be the same horse power.. all three of them. 1 year ago or less, I remember the anonymous rumors said, that wii U is 4x better than the current and ps4-xbox will be 10x.. Remember? now that the ps4 and xbox leaks came up, they changed their leaks, that ps4 and xbox are 4x and wii U is less powerful than the current lol..

Maybe sony have a couple of better parts in something, xbox in other parts and wii U in other parts.. but all three will have the same games and quality...

Im glad you brought that up because the way people are saying how powerful those next consoles is just very stupid because they jkeep changing thier mind and almost none of them have backup for it. Except for some rumors

This does not have anything to do with the gaming industry it's just Sony made a bad decision, if they want to make profit then they can't sell the PS4 at a loss.
