So what do you think? Could they add the Bird demo to the Wii U for people to experiment with and get a feel for what the Wii U is all about?

Sportsgamer's reply just showed up while I was writing this. I would have to say that I agree.

Plus I know for a fact more people would prefer the Zelda "experience" over the bird "experience."

I'm pretty sure it's not a game that will be availble, Nintendo confirmed at E3 2011 that all those tech demos are staying as tech demos, sorry.
Oh no doubt. Eiter or would be fine for me or both lol.
If they are going to include a visual way to show off the Wii U system, and have it be interactive, it would be the Zelda visual demo from E3. But this is just from what I heard, I was not at E3 to try it out. (Sadly.)

I found a better one that shows the controller screen.
I do think they should launch it with the Wii U.

No, it won't be.
And don't expect any pack-in software, Nintendo are going to take a loss on it, so they're not going to add more to that loss by giving stuff they can charge for away for free.

Yeah I seen it a while ago one thing that could have made it look better would of been better water since it looked meh and flat like most ps3/360 water does even though the fish when it jumped out of the water if you pause for a few seconds you see the water rises in a wave but that it for movement. You guys did see the rest of it right? It is a little interactive see the uncut bird demo below. Since I didn't go to E3 I want to know how it looks on the Wii U/my Tv.

When Nintendo released the 3DS, they talked about how important it was to have something available with the system to show how it was unique. That is why they included things like AR and Face Raiders. It is true that people should wait for Nintendo to announce stuff before they get their hopes up, but it doesn't really seem like modern Nintendo's style to just sell you the box and give you nothing to demonstrate it's abilities.
Also, Nintendo already has the Zelda and Bird demos so if they are looking to cheap out, that is what they should include instead of making something new.

Cheap out...I would hardly say the Zelda HD demo is cheaping out. That was an early version it could be better by now.

It's cheaping out if they they use the early version instead of updating it or if they don't including some small game with the Wii U.

I don't think tech demos like the zeldo and japanese garden ones would show off what the wii u can do.
Also it was important for the 3ds because of S3D and the fact they were making mad profit from each unit.

I dunno, NSMBM and the games like Chase Mii will probably end up as real games (or in mini-game collections).

I think it is possible, there were tech demos that displayed the 3d models of nintendo characters. those models are now part of the system for people veiwing plesure but they have to unlock them through solving puzzles.
