I got some spoilers for you.

The Wii U will have a CPU, RAM, GPU, DSP, HDMI port, USB ports, a blu-ray drive, a touch screen controller with a bunch of buttons and....wait for it....IT WILL PLAY GAMES!

Personally, im also sick of rumors already, i will wait for e3 to come and show us what the system is really capable of. No doubt im getting it though.

It is Blu-Ray.
I have it on very good authority.
Of course it won't play Blu-Ray movies, but a painted zebra is still a zebra.

No, they have similar capabilities but different architecture. They are proprietary because they only serve a single purpose. It's like a zebra and a horse. Connected but different. Also what authority is that exactly?

Nintendo didn't even have working Disc Drives in the consoles at e3 2011.
They were mock-up boxes quickly thrown together.
Expect a huge change this year, btw.

Folks was so adamant it's not blu-ray that I kept it alive in my head so that I could correct them once the console was in my hands.

it's co-developed by panasonic and no, we're still not sure, IGN source and a poor wikipedia source based on speculation from a random tech site

And this is a MONSTROUS coincidence I checked this forum today and posted a reply just moments ago I wouldn't saw this otherwise.
