So apparently some anonymous developers said in an interview conducted by IGN that “We Won’t Be Working On Wii U Due To Its Complexities”. Meanwhile, they're throwing their full support behind the unannounced Next XBOX 720 (8) or whatever the heck you want to call it and the PlayStation consoles because of their "easiness" to develop for. - Source

Sounds like a load of garbage to me. Yet another anonymous developer claiming gloom and doom for Wii U.

Exactly. Confirmed developers praise Wii U while anonymous developers hate it. I think these anonymous developers are really first-party Microsoft/Sony developers. -_-

*Rant Begins* If they can't identify themselves I couldn't give a care. If they want to claim something they should name themselves instead of hiding behind anonymity. *Rant End* Sorry that really bugs me.

“Our one and only goal once we got the Wii U hardware was to get Darksiders II running on it. We didn’t even have running the game on the touch screen on our ‘to do’ list. but once we got it running, we just fooled around with getting it on the touch screen as a lark. It took all of five minutes and two lines of code, and boom! – there was the entire game running on the controller. Amazing.”

Sure IGN, I going to believe to a anonymous developers and ignore the REAL developers.

This pretty much summed up my thoughts on the matter.

They'll claim NDA as the reason for the anonymity. But yeah, these anonymous sources are a joke! one that far too many people listen to. :(

Sorry that really bugs me.

I posted this just for that reason. I like to bug people. :D

it really is just a developer that doesnt like nintendo. we know the hardware isnt difficult to develop for which was said from the start. we know it will have a power which was the complaint for the wii. look you can be a lazy developer and still get by on the wii u. you can just put your hud on the screen and your done. so yes i call BS and these are developers that have a bad taste in their mouth for whatever reason and dislike nintendo.

yeah, anonymous sources from a hardly seriously taken site are more reliable than actual devs with a name...

also, the title of the thread is incomplete, it should be:
Developer: “We Won’t Be Working On Wii U Due To Its Complexities”

a.k.a.: we are lazy

Actually, would they be on NDA if they have never seen a Wii U? Because I bet these guys assume it will be hard to develop for, and don't actually know for sure.

These "developers" have never touched a wii u.

Nor have they worked on the "720" or "ps4"

More corporate sabotage. Lol

It's so obvious nowadays.

Everyone knows how to program for PowerPC nowadays.

Power 7 keeps things easy with out of order execution, easy compiling, and 4 simultaneous threads per core.

Then you have worlds more ram. And the amount of freedom that provides is no light matter.

Add to that the gpu, which is derived from a familiar architecture, and you have basically a recipe for great tankents to make amazing games and even less talented folks to be able to turn out beautiful games quickly like it was a walk in the park.

The only real work involved is more time spent on models of much greater geometry, and the extra time in creating proper high resolution textures.

At this point, it's not the programming complexity as it is the "elbow grease" required to use all the new power. Wii u games will be more expensive to make.

It's funny how developers give up on something when it's not easy. How are they going to get better if everything is handed to them.

Well Team Ninja and Vigil both said Wii U is easy to develop for, anaymous sources are annoying and if they big devs they wouldn't be unknown, IGN wanting more hits.
