I see that a black Wii U is confirmed so was it actually on screen? I didn't catch that, only the black controllers.

yes it was, if you re-watch the video when they show the video call look on the right side of Wii u Game pad and there is the black Wii U.

yes and no, the thumb sticks are on the top as opposed to the x-box controller's left thumbstick on the top, and right thumbstick is below the 4 buttons

But I agree with the similarities.

Either way it's still freaking awesome, BLACK WII U PRO CONTROLLER ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nintendo saved themselves with this. If they package one in with every Wii U, devs won't have to use the GamePad if they don't want to.

Its similar but I am not going to say anything. With how much Nintendo has been copied over the years I think ee can forgive a design that is apparently inspired by someone else.

That could be dangerous as some devs decided to not use the Wiimote's motion sensibility, taking away it's purpose.

Looks pretty damn good, even if it is damn near exactly the same as the Xbox controller. :P

Not like that's a bad thing though. The 360's controller is one of the best out there so I don't see the problem at all in Nintendo taking ideas from it.

Nintendo has been wireless since the GCN era Wavebird.

Any speculation on wired was trollish.

The piano black finish is Teh Sweetnezz.

NO ONE outside Nintendo and their manufacturing partners new about the sleek piano black finish.

Nintendo giving their console more "serious" color schemes and design language.

Interesting... LOL

No I was talking about the Classic Controller Pro because you still had to connect it to the Wiimote.

With the new Wii U controller pro we are not not stuck with the old concept using the wii remote or classic controller pro with the Wii U gamepad for five player action and I think it's an everybody wins situation. Now if we can only get a confirmed number to how many U gamepads to a console. Come on Tuesday :D

Knowing my cousins, friends, and brothers I'm going to be the only one to use the GamePad. They only like using the GameCube controller and classic Controller Pro.

Look at all the Microsoft fanboys going nuts over the controller in the comments.
