The conference was well thought out, except for the very end, and kept me excited for a large portion of the presentation. Now that is not saying that they couldn't have done better with what they had a their disposal, in fact, they could have done ten times better. First of all, I would have kept every casual game limited to a quick appearance on the screen with a mention. Example, "And even though we are set on trying to bring the audience of the 'core' gamer to the Wii U, we still have games such as SiNG, and Wii Fit U." Now the time that was spent with those originally would instead focus on Game & Wario, and Assassins Creed III. Finally, at the end where Reggie points out "one more thing", that is when you through out a quick trailer for Project P-100 set to some really pumping music, followed by a quick montage of every game confirmed for Wii U and have Reggie say something along the lines of, "Thank you for coming out today, and I hope you are looking forward to all of the game on Wii U", as every logo appears behind him.
That's what I would have done differently, what do you think?
(P.S. I really liked how it was anyway...)

As I said before, Nintendo really needs to try hard to make the "casual" gamers to want to get the Wii U. And sadly, the only way to do this is to bring back "casual" games from the Wii such as Wii Fit.
This is why the confrence was focused on "casual" games.

For us the confrence sucked. For the "casual" gamers it was amazing, the "casual" gamers are the people who Nintendo really needs to target at the moment. (We "hardcore" gamers are already sold, Nintendo sucked us in last year.)

I agree with what you said for the most part, but I still think that it didn't cause the conference to be lost. During the hour long conference we saw about three "casual" games that were showcased, but the rest of the games that were shown such as Mass Effect 3, ZombiU, and New Super Mario Bros. U really got my blood pumping. Now I am by no means a "casual" gamer, but I still enjoyed the conference.

Here's Nintendo's explanation about the e3 show.
Why they picked what they showed etc.
