This^.I normally prefer a third person view too. I'd rather see my character than just their arms and gun. I don't tend to notice too much when I'm actually playing the game though.

I'm not the greatest fan of shooters, but I think I prefer third-person, for the same reason as AMAC.

I think that's boring IMO, that is why I prefer games like CoD and Battlefield. The only 3rd person shooter game I like is Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Like at first, I can say a 3rd Person game can give more cinematic power, so it might create stronger depth to the game. These games give you a better view of things happening around the character, whether it'd be a shooter like Resident Evil, or an MMORPG like Diablo.
First Person games, can become more immersive than 3rd Person. Let's take Metroid Prime for example (because CoD is overrated and overhated). I personally feel that game is so much better in the 1st person perspective.
Somehow I was going to mention Amnesia: The Dark Descent in that argument, but because I didn't, I wrote this sentence.
Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

I hate first person view, it is tedious, but 3rd person view is amazing.

For some reason the 3rd person view actually feels MORE immersive to me, not less like everyone else says. It also seems more realistic (no hands in front of your screen), even though games are far from being realistic at the moment.
