Interesting. We'll see what goes down, if it's true. Imagine if CoD became a Nintendo exclusive. Now that would be some kinda way to reach out to the "core" gamer, xD.

That would also force other third parties to turn towards the Wii U, because that's where a lot, and I mean a lot, of the hardcore audience would shift.

Of course, if Nintendo is smart they have to buy them, if Microsoft gets them that could hurt Nintendo.

I wonder what Microsoft's and Sony's approaches would be if Nintendo pulled this off.

Nintendo would virtually have a monopoly on the gaming industry.... they would have Nintendo 1st party blockbusters, almost all 3rd party games and CoD exclusive, why would people need Microsoft anymore? unless your like a hardcore Forza fan :P :D :P

The possibilities. A huge amount of gamers buy PS360s just for COD games. If it would be Nintendo exclusive... Even more people would buy a Wii U. It could even surpass the success of the Wii, if done right.

Nintendo buying out Activision. Now if that were to come into fruition we'll have a story to tell for the ages.
But will having CoD as an exclusive make gamers purchase the Wii U or will they just get angry?

Nintendo does this and it's more like weak console revolts every few years instead of an all out console war!!

*several years later*

"Kids, I don't think you understand what it meant at the time. See, us gamers, we just sat there, twiddling our thumbs and stuff, waiting intensely for some big corp to buy out Activision. We knew what it meant if Ninty, Sony or Microsoft bought it, and where the industry would go.

... We definitely didn't see some mutual behind the scenes workings with SEGA in shady strip joints coming, that's for sure."

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

you guys need to see the price they put up... $8.1 billion.. thats a lot.. if nintendo buy this, they are taking huge risks... I think this is more of a 50-50 situation.. they don't really seeking buyers, just to poke the market and see if anyone wants to buy..
urhhh.. potatoes?

That would AWESOME but let's ask our friendly neighborhood fanboy about his thoughts on that:
FANBOY: That would be just another dumb attempt by Nintendo to get us (hardcore gamers) to play their #*$%&y Wii U.
That was our friendly neighborhood fanboy telling his thoughts about the possibility of Nintendo buying Activision.

The possibilities. A huge amount of gamers buy PS360s just for COD games. If it would be Nintendo exclusive... Even more people would buy a Wii U. It could even surpass the success of the Wii, if done right.

Yeah but like you said a lot of gamers buy PS360s just to play COD, so what if they buy the Wii U just for COD :( . After all (I think) Nintendo did say that they wanted most of the features utilized and the things that those COd gamers will utilize is the disc drive, Eshop for DLC, and Youtube if they need help or want to watch some n00bs get pwned.

When they talk about getting 3rd party support, they always mention COD. So I think they will be happy if there's as much COD support as on the other consoles.

how many COD games have activision made, like 8 or something.
Nintendo wouldn't buy them just for COD, they would have to buy them if they plan to make a new IP because they can only make so many COD games before everybody starts to feel like its the same game.
Microsoft bought Halo when it was still in development, if they had bought it say after they released Halo 3 then they wouldn't really benefit from future sales.

If Ninty decide to buy Activision then lets just hope that it doesn't end up like RARE (Oh Rare we miss you).
