It bothers me when I see little kids play online. I can't stand it. But there are kiddie shooters to.I agree, I grew up with the Alien series basically being my childhood movie memories. I look at it like I see The Lion King. I fell in love with the Aliens and were sad when they were killed.
I'm just saying that some kids may get scared if they're prone to it.
But I ... sorta disagree on letting a 9 year old play an M rated game. I think you should at least wait until kids are 13 before you start corrupting their childhood with the whole "killing everything is fun" thing lol. Plus it helps if they have some experience with other game genres other than shooters. It sort of bothers me when I see young kids these days only playing shooters and stuff. What happened to JRPGs and games that made you think and hit you in your feels? lol

Mario and Zelda are hardcore, COD is not. Hardcore is not defined by the amount of gore, but rather gameplay depth and difficulty. I would say Halo is hardcore, but games like COD with 2 hr campaigns and the bulk of it is in multiplayer, just aren't hardcore. And I know you never mentioned COD but you did have those games in your mind when you typed the word hardcoreI'm forced to play casual games. My mom won't let me play hardcore games even though I really want to because I'm thirteen. But I like ZombiU and I understand about your goddaughter and you being squemish. I'm sort of a ZombiU fanboy and I'm being nice here but again I like ZombiU. No offense though. Its a zombie game even though they're infected zombies are in awy still human which means they still have and the reason that there's so much is because like I said its a zombie game it needs those effects.
BTW 100th post :-)

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect

Those are very good, and even responsible reasons to not get the game.

Okay I know most of you will buy this game, but is there anyone who's not buying the game? For me , I love the concept, but there's just too much blood and horror and I don't really play M games, plus blood makes me Squamish. I watched the trailer for zombiu with the pictures only, I was fine when I watched it the first time, but the second time I nearly wanted to throw up. What made it even creepier was that it had the song god save the queen playing.
Don't get me wrong, I love the concept and all but I'm more centered around family friendly games. I have a little nephew who wants me to get it cause he thinks it's 'cool' I am not letting a 9 year old play a zombie game.
Plus I have a two year old goddaughter to think about so... Yeah...don't want to scare her.
Zombi U is a 18 rated game firstly, & secondly Nintendo need this sort of game if it is to appeal to the mass market gamer's & core games Nintendo are trying to get on-board with the Wii U platform.
The more the core gaming community get on-board with the Wii U & more importantly buy the console then this will appeal to developers & publishers thus leading to more games both for the core gamer's who are mostly 18+ & of course more games for the family type of player.
You shouldn't be anti any Wii U game.
I do not want to come across as patronizing but if all the Wii U was offering was fluffy cutesi games i wouldn't be buying one.

My thoughts about little kids being scared and stuff.
I see it that its just like a movie. So it depends on how the kid is raised. MY son is 3 and he does ok with stuff like that. He even saw resident evil the movie and started running around trying to bite me. Very funny.
So i guess it depends on the kid.
But some games are to much for younger people its just like movies thats why everything has a rating.
What i hate the most tho is when moms buy there younge kids gta then fuss about what is going on in the game. And im just like hell you you brought him the dam. game. He cant do it because you gotta be 18 or older.
But yea go by the rating and all is good.
Sorry if the game is to much for you but thats how the devs wanted it to be.

That said, bring on the violence in the virtual world to remind us that we need to act to end global violence against women, the LBGTQ community, people of color, and whoever else is being persecuted.
THAT said, violent video games are not bad. They are good. They are... how should I say it... DA BEST
