I quite like ranks being simply determined by post count, although I wouldn't mind allowing some members to have custom ranks. I don't know how to allow members to edit their ranks though, other than manually changing them myself.

As for the icons, I doubt I could make any that would look decent, but I have added pips for the ranks which don't have icons. I know it's not the same as having an icon, but it's better than nothing.

Create the missing ones and send them to him or AMAC for consideration? The visual badges you see on MLPF are created by the user Nico, also one of the global mods. Just wanted to point that out.
