Something more open world like Sunshine also, people I don't think we will be seeing any Galaxy 3, or Sunshine's 2. They didn't make a Super Mario 64 for the GCN, they didn't make a Mario Sunshine for the Wii. Just something I noticed.

Knowing Nintendo, they will try a completely new setting with this title, and it will incorporate touchscreen functions.
I would not be expecting Super Mario 64 2, Super Mario Sunshine 2 or Super Mario Galaxy 3.
It would be cool if he had a bunch of extraordinary plumbing tools as abilities, like an Infernal Plunger, an Electric Ladder, a Spare Pipe Cannon and an Omniwrench... wait, take that last one back, already done before.

A Mario game with no particular theme, like 64.
I'd like simultaneous multi-play. With the Wii U Gamepad, that should be cake. Mario and Luigi working together in a 3D world.

As much as I would love to see a Sunshine 2, I would very much like to see something new.

i wouldnt be mad at all with galaxy 3. but since its new hardware we can expect something new. IMO the galaxy games are (two of) the best games i ever palyed. i seriously dont see how they can top what galaxy 1 & 2 did. but never count out nintendo like ive been saying since 2006 they have the best devs in the business.

I just want another collection game. I know we're going to get one (I'm a bit upset it's not at launch), but honestly, it's all I want. The platformers are fun but they feel so soulless. So here's to praying this news is true!
Also, it's quite a shame they didn't save Galaxy for the Wii U. The environment would've been quite spectacular to show off. Here's to hoping there won't be another, though.

Don't you mean Super Mario Miiverse?I swear if it's called super Mario universe I'm gonna it a PS4 ad never buy a Nintendo system again. I want it to be a 3d mushroom kingdom game.. Nothing more.. Their hasn't been a game that's 3d in the mushroom kingdom since paper Mario. I want the courses to be more like sunshine than galaxy ( just preference) and I want it to have a bigger overworld. Not Zelda big, but slightly bigger than sunshine. But I will not stand for another galaxy sequel, I want something new and exciting.

I want this new Mario to be the best yet. Incorporating things from every previous Mario franchise and having it set in the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom. With new tools that can be switched,(one of them could be flood). It would be a Mario-Zeldaesk kind of game where there's some end of the world kind of plot and the only way for Mario to save the Mushroom Kingdom is to collect stars (or whatever they may be) from different areas to allow Mario access to the castle where Bowser is keeping Peach hostage. The twist is that Bowser is trying to harness the power of meteorites in the sky, manipulating them to strike the earth.
Kinda got carried away with my Mario imagination lol but I would like to see something very creative along these lines. Another idea I had is a time traveling Mario.

I don't think the sunshine formula worked well for a mario game. It was the only installment I didn't like.
I'd like a game where Mario is transported to an alternte universe where allegiances are reversed. Peach is a tyrant, and the Bros and Toad are the brutal captains of her "gestapo". Bowser, Bowser Jr, and Fawful are heroic, but mostly ineffective forces for good in the world. Wario is their humanitarian secret funder. Mario has to team up with them to overthrow Peach's reign.
I'd like a game where Mario is transported to an alternte universe where allegiances are reversed. Peach is a tyrant, and the Bros and Toad are the brutal captains of her "gestapo". Bowser, Bowser Jr, and Fawful are heroic, but mostly ineffective forces for good in the world. Wario is their humanitarian secret funder. Mario has to team up with them to overthrow Peach's reign.
