This. November 18th 2001 (Gamecube Launch) was a Sunday. November 19th 2006 (Wii Launch) was a Sunday. So, we are probably looking at the 11th (the rumored date) or the 18th since they are both Sundays.

And as others have said...Black Friday would be a disaster.

Now, I am sure that stores will have special Black Friday sales and bundles for the U...but that would be insanity to try and get. I will just pick mine up a week or two earlier from a pre-order.

I remember that day like it was yesterday.

I had a black GC and Tony Hawk.

I personally don't want it to come out on Black Friday because their prob gonna be sold out, and I think tht November 18th is the Sweet Spot because November 11th is Paper Mario! And November 25th is gonna get people mad that they couldn't get it on Black Friday

I really hope it's Sunday before BF. It's a Win-Win-Win scenario.
Launch day buyers don't need to worry about being trampled... any more than usual. Downside is price.
Black Friday buyers don't need to worry about being trampled by launch day buyers. Downside is stock availability because of pesky launch buyers.
Nintendo gets mass sales in its first week.

Okay, so I just came back from GameStop to put more money down on Blops 2 CPE, AC3, and New Super Mario Bros U.

Luckily, I had the manager as my cashier, (my best GameStop worker friend, lol)

He asked me if I was going to get it on Black Friday. I told him that I would get it before, so that they weren't all sold out. He said that it's COMING OUT ON Black Friday at midnight. After my excitement, I asked him how he knows, to which he replied "I'm the Manager!" I then asked him how much and he said: $300.

Now where it gets interesting...

After all of the excitement after, and putting more money down he said that I have to come back on September 13 when they announce the other games. I asked him about some of the other games;

He said Medal of Honor: Warfighters there, Blops 2 (but everyone knew that lol), Hitman Absolution, Far Cry 3, and a bunch more 2013 titles

And now I proceed to fangasm. WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

With all due respect I think you must be pretty gullible if you believe what a GameStop employee tells even if he is the manager and you get along with him well. I'm not saying you're lying or there isn't any truth in what he said but I very much doubt a store manager would know before the the games journalists and I suspect until Nintendo officially announce the details whether it be on September 13th or another day we won't what they are.

I learned the Hard way to never fully believe until it's announced, but he's never given me wrong info before (3DS launch exact date, Wii release date before it was announced, and even the Vita which I almost bought!). Basically, I have my reasons to believe him. I'm going back today to change a couple of pre orders to Wii U titles so I'll ask anything else

So it has to be the 18th. I read on IGN that Paper Mario is releasing 30th of December in Japan and Europe that is 50 days later? Will the Wii U launch in Europe this year? I'm having a feel of a January release

Nah, Paper Mario can launch whenever, just not on the same day as the Wii U. And December 30th is prob just a placeholder
