Pro: its awesome.
con: EXTREMELY high entry barrier.

You are going to suck when you first start. Suck bad. A combination of not knowing how to play, and weak beginning stats. The game grooms you into the basics, which includes hunt preperation...

HUNT PREPERATION IS NECESSARY. You dont just run around killing monsters. you must spend time gathering materials for potions, wetstones, cool/hot drinks and other items to keep you alive during a hunt.

This can make the intro tutorial drag.... it makes many people give up before the game starts (see zero punctuations review of mh tri... Yahtzee never made it past the first 15 minutes of the game).

If you make it, and actually manage to take down your first monster, you will be hooked...

nice to know, i dont mind grinding, worth looking into, thanks.

Love grinding when there is loads of content and I mean content in terms of equipment, enemies, and stages which Monster Hunter provides.

I've not played any MH before but will be getting this. It's all about co-op online play, right?

Not as much as tri (half the game was unavailable unless you were playong online co op.)

But yeah, even though you can access the entire game in sp should you choose, the game definately comes unto its own when co-ordinating taking down massive monsters between a group of freinds

Pretty excited for this one. I'm just not sure how much I'll actually be able to play it.

Hmm, I am interested in this game, but the graphics look extremely dated. This may seem like an odd complaint and many are sure to think/respond that it is the gameplay that matters which is true. But when so little effort is put into one area of the game I have to start wondering about the other areas.

This is a wierd answer....

The graphics are actually most impressive, and rather advanced.... For the system this game is actually from.... 3ds.

Its a port of the wii game monster hunter tri, with improved graphics and 4x the content, on a portable system.

The wiiu game is just the 3ds game in hd.

Now that i got my money back from rayman, im picking up both 3ds and wii u versions for crossplay functionality. I actually travel quite a bit, so i think it will be most useful.

^ If all they have done is port it across from the 3ds and up the resolution, that is lazy and for me not worth purchasing at full price. I hope I am wrong.

Then I am worried, I do enjoymonster hunter but such cheap ports to pc are always underwhelming and nearly always have other problems. This however is on a console which of course is a closed platform so you can't even fix it yourself id there is a problem. Much thinking I have to do.

Exited! Have to get premmision and sart collecting money! Is there a no gore mode?
Because I'm not one of those COd kids!

Hello! My name is Kao and I am a Kangaroo! If you can see my kicking picture there, you can see me riding one of mine friends! I am quite popular in the area because I saved alot of animals turning in to women accsesories. It was quite painfull on the way, but I liked the experience! I plan on buying a plane with all my money I got and going on an adventure on the isles. My first adventure was when that Mcguffin Hunter cought me, but I escaped, and I don't want to let any animal in pain! What's your story, mate?

Well console games can get patches.

But it wont be necessary. The games an enhanced refinement of an enhanced refinement. The games been out quite a while in Japan, and its performance is flawless, and they both use the same engine, mtframework.

The only issue youll find is its a 3ds game.

There really isnt much gore, theres 'blood' when you hit a monster, but its more a hit animation than any kind of blood spurt.

Even when you cut off a tail or something, theres no spurting fountains or anything.

And when you die, a bunch of kitties come and take you away on the kitty cart.

...? Thanks anyways!

Edit-If MH3U Works that way, maybe we can create a group or something for the Wii U forum users, like a clan or something!

Edit 2-If i pre order it from the UK and not from spain, will it work? Considering the region lock!

Have you guys seen the WiiU pad screen for mh3? It is not even 16-9!! It even has the 4point control button of the 3 ds version...but wiiU has a standard second stick!!...strange theuY didnt adjust these thing...makes it feel like a very cheap port...only upped the upper screen resolution and online play. Wished they paid attention to the second screen too.

Or did I not see it correctly in the euro Nintendo Direct?

I can't say for sure but I believe the EU including the UK is considered one version for online play.

It is a remake of tri. A combination of tri, portable 3rd, and new stuff with enhanced graphics. At around 4x the content of tri, it might as well be a new game.
