So both bundles will come with an HDMI cable.

What about the people that don't have an HD TV?

Granted I'm not one of them, but there are still some people that don't have HD TV's! They have a Standard AV port, but haven't announced an standalone AV cable?

Doesn't seem like that big of an issue, in fact I'm happy that I don't have to buy another HDMI!, even though most people have HD TV's though, how will this work?
I am the foot. I do not like you. You smother me with socks and shoes, then step on me thousands of times a day.

We foot will rebel one day.

I don't think it's been confirmed that it works with Wii cables. That said I'm sure standard AV cables will be sold as separate options.

I think that this effects such a minority that it isn't worth putting in the box. You will probably be able to buy them seperately.

While I can see where you're coming from harold, at the same time, I'm not so sure it matters.

I mean, HDTVs are somewhat common now, and those that don't have one yet don't have to shell out an arm and a leg just to get a decently sized one.

Like others have said before, it's backwards compatible with just about everything the Wii used, so if you have a Wii, you should be able to use the cables you have for that if the need arises. And if you don't have them but need them, take six bucks and just go get one already. xD

No biggy. Shame on those wasting a awesome HD gaming machine on an old tv! Lol. If you don't have a Wii to grab cables from.. I'm sure if you can dish out between $300-$400 you can spare $10 more for the cable!

Going by these pictures, it looks like the Wii and Wii U use the same AVI cords. I'd say this crisis has been averted for the most part.

True, but from what I can tell the physical appearance of the system hasn't changed much. Plus, it's the only picture I can find of the back of the system.

It's better this way. The AV cables are cheaper to buy than an HDMI.
"So if Zero Suit Samus is fanbait for guys, where is the fanbait for girls? Why isn’t Captain Falcon wearing a thong or sporting a chest twice the size of his last model? Why doesn’t Mario have an absurd crotch buldge holding in his 10 inch slice of manhood? Why doesn’t Yoshi look like a Fist of the North Starcharacter.

That, my friends, is why the design is sexist."~Angelo M. D'Argenio-4/17/2014

I have a relatively new Onkyo surround sound amp which has 6 HDMI inputs which I connect most of my consoles to as well as my Mac and my Sky Box ( satellite TV ) so I'm all set. My TV also has 4 HDMI connections too although I don't need to use them all as everything is routed through the Onkyo amp and then into my TV for the video input.
