Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I'd have to go with Samus Aran in Metroid: Other M. She goes through a lot of hardships, most of her team dies on the Bottle Ship, and she has to face Ridley again, even though she thought he was dead after Super Metroid.

I'm gonna go with Auren from FFX. Not every person you meet has come back from the dead to keep a promise to an old friend and has such a major role in the game.

It's true that the green dinosaur is a brave guy but having a strong personality is a different question. A strong personality is one that has different tones to it but Yoshi seems to be in one state all the time lol (don't kill me

Did somebody REALLY say Zelda as a deep personality character?
Don't get me wrong, I have a shrine for Zelda stuff in my room, but Zelda herself is pretty shallow. In fact, the only people that aren't shallow in Zelda are usually the ones that only appear in one or two games. Happy Mask Salesman, Skull Kid, Zant, Ooccoo, etc...
