What is your career or what do you want to your career to be?

I have thought about this quite often lately, of course I still can't really figure it out just yet. So for those who already have jobs and professions, how did you decide what you wanted to be?

I have narrowed it down in what I want to study in college:

English, Journalism, Photography, Communications, or Animal Science.

Game designer or start my own IT business.

I want to open my own restaraunt... "Mitch's 'wiches" It will be known for its hefty sandwich and burgers :3

but opening a restaurant costs quite a bit of money so I am thinking about getting into the purchasing branch (at any company really doesnt matter) and the grinding it out there for a decade or two, because a decent purchaser can make 80-110K so it seems like the perfect job to safe away for my restaurant, plus purchasing has unlimited perks that range from free fancy dinners to tickets to sporting events

I want to be a web designer, and a 2D designer/cartoonist on the side.

i want to be a game designer but im taking the smart route and learning how to code, not model and stuff, because with being able to code i can do so much more then just make games

I find it funny how many people want to work in the game industry, but have no idea how hellish those jobs actually are.
That being said, I still want to do something in that field.

I'm going to be studying economics at uni next year (if everything goes to plan), so I'll probably end up with a career in finance or banking. It might not be the most interesting industry, but you can earn a lot from it. I'd also like to have some sort of job in Formula 1 for a few years after I graduate, but it probably wouldn't be a long term thing.

I have a degree in IT, but I opted to do something different. I'm self employed and make my living in landscaping and have an out door farmers market. People tend to question my choice, but when you only work 6 months out of the year and still make far more than those working a full year...you tend not to listen to the doubters. This also means I'll be shutting my business down the day before the Wii U launch and playing lots o games.

To all you youngins'... never let anyone tell you that you can't do anything and never doubt yourself. If you don't risk anything, you will never gain anything.

I work on cars. Went to ATi for it. pass every class with a 4.0
Id like to have my own shop fixing up cars but that takes alot of money to get start. So till then i just freelance it.

Ya know, I used to think I wanted to be something that worked in the field of biology (specifically the biology of animals). I seem to have found a stronger interest in chemistry though; in particular the chemistry of reactions.

I'm still thinking medicine would be a decent fit in terms of it encompassing my interests, but I do question my ability to work for that sort of ambition. Alternatively, I don't think I'd mind being a (high school) teacher.

I've decided to major in Information technology Management which is pretty much an I.T. degree and a business degree mixed together and I'm aiming at being a system administrator for a big international company...preferably Opera software

I studied Electrical Engineering at college, I am now a Software Engineer.  I write software for automation systems for use in Industrial Processess, mainly Sewerage, Waste Water & Water Treatment.
