Dude we DON'T even know the specs yet. Oh great, it has 2GB RAM... That must be really expensive -_-

You can't say it's overpriced and like said before: it's sold on a loss. Therefore it's a FACT that it's not overpriced.

But no, I'm not getting it on launch day either. 350 euros is too much for me, I want the Deluxe for 300 or less.
No sig.

oh give me a break.. hahaha... it will end up as a childish talk :P.... their loss... I honestly prefer to invest 400 euro in my new pc, than a console... So nintendo must reduce the console price, to gain more customers. I mean, forget about pc users guys... only the console world will pay that money for a console that cant even much the today pc technology. I'll wait then.

@Kevlin Me too, i want the deluxe for about 200-250 price range, thats how I feel it. because if I have in my pocket 400 euros, I say to my self... " george go buy it... but a voice inside me, will say... NO GET the gtx 680 man... " lol Its more like 20x wii U horse power with endless high quality fun.

Why do I feel that this went thread from "Who's not getting it at launch like me" to "how many different ways can we rag on Nintendo?"

Plus, I feel you're being very...for lack of a better term, "holier than thou" attitude about this whole thing. You don't know how much it costs to create, and you haven't even bothered to look up the individual parts to even TRY to get a grasp of what the Wii costs to make, but instead would rather rag on other people for simply being "wrong."

You also have to remember that this is a dedicated gaming console with a tablet controller. The controller at the very least has to cost $50-70 to manufacture, not to mention you're also paying for the OS and the console itself.

Bonus Facts: Nintendo is in fact taking a loss on each system they sell. http://www.ign.com/a...wii-u-at-a-loss Price cut probably won't be coming for at least one and a half years, and expecting a price cut within the first six months is, quite frankly, asinine.

Bonus Thoughts: Misleading title is misleading.

what makes you think it's so weak? the specs haven't been revealed except 2GB RAM and AMD GPGPU. No more, the specs could be amazing for all you know.

I am not raging, if people come to tell me, why i am not buying it or they will get it, whos doin that then... I am just giving my reasons why I am not getting it, because I dont feel, it worths of buying yet at that price. I consider it very expensive for its technology.

Oh, and the graphics card, the last time I checked is going to be evergreen 5xxx series chip (modified at 400 unified shaders - rumored), And I feel is going to be weak, because of the cpu, its 99% confirmed an about equal with xbox360 cpu... hope they wrong, I doubt so... So case is closed, its an old tech... I cant invest that money in old tech.. even if its rebranded new modified chip... But in 2 days, they will make a very good hardware review, I will check it, I doubt that It will change my mind.

ps: Its a huge leap for Nintendo wii ---> wii U... but not for my cup of tea, at that price... I prefer to invest that money in my pc. I cant see wii U as the ultimate machine of gaming.. I still see my pc as my ULTIMATE gaming experience.... so I see wii U as a console and I offer money for a console, not for an ultimate gaming experience. Thats how I feel it.

its not like the prev generation, that xbox offered amazing graphics and everybody run there, abandon their pc for it.... this age is over... I am a pc user - gamer and I balance my money with the principal of "you pay what you get", if you pay lots in 1 part, it performs much better, if you dont.. it wont... I hope you get the point.. we pc users are different kind of customers.

So wii U still is pointing in the casual market (casuals dont care what they buy, they buy it just because its apple or nintendo or microsoft or sony), not the hardcore market. But fingers crossed, I will check the reviews in a couple of days. Dont blame me!! hands up! lol And be careful, I am not saying, I am not buying wii U because its weak, I am saying wii U costs much less from my point of view and I cant offer that money for it. I am a very difficult customer.. :P I will buy wii U, when the time comes.

You shouldn't pretend you know about console technology and It's costs. Comparing computers and consoles is irrelevant. also if your not willing to spend this on the Wii U, then enjoy this current Gen because It's all you will have for a long time. I promise you nextbox and ps4 will be the same or more expensive.

I'm not getting a WiiU at launch. I only have $25 and I just bought my 3DS XL 2 months ago. Earliest I'm getting a WiiU might be Christmas.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Op seems like one of those typical "pc gamers" that acts like they know everything about hardware when in reality they know nothing

Pc computers is the point 0, is the black hole of the universe in the hardware market.. is the ring that rules them all... Even if a console needs the half horse power to achive what a 2x horse power pc can do. Pc is so versatile, that can always beat any console that will come out.

Pc gamers, tend to buy nintendo than netbox or ps4... Because nincendo makes consoles, not beasts and it offers different experiences than the copy cats of pc games, sony and microsoft offers.

But, my point is not the nintendo wii U horse power, but the cost of that... becareful.. I am not comparing wii U with my pc, because If I do that, I would never consider consoles in my life at all... Am talking about the cost of it, affirmative. Nintendo is not buying the parts from another planet, so we pc gamers, know the prices of the parts, retail and non-retail..

@ structures stop bugging... I am not comparing my pc with wii U.. lol... I am just saying wii U is very expensive for what it offers... If you consider as a comparison, when I said " If i have 400 in my pocket, I would buy a beast graphic card" feel free to.. because thats what I am going to do.. hahahahaha..

But I am not comparing wii U tech with pc tech... as a versus comparison... I am just saying.. wii U cpu is very old from what I ve read till to date (also the gpu is past due but hopefully strong enough) and the 400 euros, are away to much.

you do understand that they have to make different gpu's and cpus for the WiiU right? they cant just throw an i3 and 6770 in a case and sell that. Also the WiiU has a tablet controller, the price absolutely makes sense, perhaps even too cheap, at least in USA. the systems hardware alone is AT LEAST 200 with maybe 80-100 for the controller, they are selling at a loss for now and will be for a while, we don't even know the actual specs yet but it's rumored to have 1gb for video memory and 1gb for OS memory. if the wiiU were a pc you'd be getting a great deal being able to operate games at 1080p 60fps at a price of $300 including touchscreen controls. It is rumored to have DOUBLE the video memory of an xbox 360, and most likely at least 150mhz higher clock speed. If you think about it, the WiiU is a great price for what you get, because of it's controls practically every game is almost like an exclusive sense it has a wider spectrum of control than just standing analog sticks and buttons

The way I look at new tech, if you don't buy on launch day and wait for a price drop, the 'new' tech is on the horizon by then. E.g ps4 x720..
So, ye ill buy launch day. I'd rather play it for 1yr than wait 1yr for a £70 price drop

ok, i see your point with regards to pc tech and console tech.....but think of it this way....you may feel that your money is not well spent paying for less than top of the line pc spec...but have you noticed pc games aren't the cream of the crop these days. sure, you'll get the occasional hit now and then, but for every hit you get on the pc, you get 3 or 4 hits on the consoles. plain and simple, you may buy the next nvidia gtx700 series processor, but what good is it if your choice of games are limited? i mean lets face it, developers don't develop much for pc anymore, its all about consoles. when they do, its a crappy port. if you are a pc gamer you should know this.

I know what nintendo claims, but i also know what nintendo does... They sell (recycle) tech and get money from it. Thats what nintendo speaks about, they earn less than they did in wii or gamecube... Eg wii tech cost them 50 bucks, but they sold it 200-150-110 after... even at that price, they earn alot... Thats what they mean probably.

But there is a problem at that price range... If you want to sell a console at that price (400), you must offer at least, the same horse power (tech wise) with at least a low range pc, at this generation.... Wii U, is older tech wize than the low range pc, but it costs as a mid range pc!!!.. I believe its unbalanced. So nintendo is not dying, but they experiment alot with the prices, the same what happened with 3ds...

I mean with 400 you can get

an AMD 8350 with a mobo, psu, ram and a box... and its mid to high range pc (depends) the graphic card...

Console specs are a lot different than PC specs, which is why Wii U only needs 2GB of RAM vs a gaming PC that has anywhere from 8-16GB these days. PCs do a lot more processes than simply gaming and having an OS. If you built a console with the same specs as a gaming PC, not only would you spend a small fortune, but it would be overkill because it doesn't need all that junk to perform how it's supposed to. For the same price as what the Wii U costs you could buy a top of the line graphics card that would last you 3-4 years (No offense but anyone who spends 400 bucks on a whole gaming PC can't honestly think it will run graphically demanding games).

First of all, I am not comparing console tech with pc tech, so do not confuse your self’s and tell me what is what... But I prefer an expensive good part for my pc, than spend this money for a console. Thats not a comparison, its priorities. Secondly, consoles for most of pc gamers are a nightmare, you know that... Because of the ports, but we bet alot, in the next gen consoles, for our pcs.. For example direct x 11.1 is usable only by the crappy (for desktops) windows 8 and we wont see direct x 12 anytime in the near feature. Also the games will start using direct x 11 in 1 year from now with the new engines (look the new games for 2013 with the new engines), means, automatically, that the investment in our pc's finally will come in handy. We had some games for pc, like battlefields, witcher, swtor, gw2, etc.. but the near feature is very promising!

starwars 1313 (next gen and pc)
watchdogs (next gen and pc)
Titan (mmo pc based game by blizzard)
generals 2 (pc based game)
battlefield 4 (pc based game)

so the true battle will begin soon enough, pc versus next gen consoles, including wii U, because it has the features in the gpu... And they will built the games at the level that a today pc can do!! dx 11!!!! So I smell panic!! At least the first 3-4 years... after that, we are going to complain again, about the ports... because of dx12 and the luck in the consoles of dx12.. I hope you get my point of view... I am looking into the near feature!! And next year, ps4 or nextbox will pop up!!! It is announced that a new next gen console will be released next year..

And I repeat, I am not saying I wont buy wii U at all because my pc is better.. it is.. but I will buy wii U because I want to play nintendo games, but I dont feel like it, to offer 400 euro for it... thats it... I will wait... even if it takes 2 years (and its still promising as a console at that time)

read that comment you just posted again.....doesnt that sound funny to you?! hahaha! you buy tech that you can't make use of! its like the other dude in the other thread who got his wii u copy of black ops 2.......whoooptie dooo! he is one of the few to have black ops 2 for the wii u.....but he has no wii u! hahahah. all your points are on future tech of pc. by all means, its your money, do what you will. just don't understand why start a post on something that, at the end of the day, is your decision to make and no one else's. by the way, you say you aren't comparing pc vs console....well you actually are when you're trying to passively list every single pro the pc WILL have. its like having a lamborgini, but all you can do is keep it in your garage cause you aint got no gas.

Darling (lol), companies always made some games for the pc and pc always had games that you cant play in a console.. but the new engines, are very promising for the pc technology today... thats what I mean. Lets not speak what pc have better than the consoles, the last few years back.. for example, modding, better performance, cheaper, etc.. lets not make it a pc vs console topic fight.

honey (lol) i don't need you to tell me the history of pc's and consoles. i'm just pointing out your numerous mistakes in your posts. you say one thing and then passively try to sneak in your comparisons...."Lets not speak what pc have better than the consoles, the last few years back.. for example, modding, better performance, cheaper, etc.. lets not make it a pc vs console topic fight." REALLY?!!! hahaha what is that?!!! nice one! by the way, you do realize this is a pro nintendo forum lol not really bright to be posting your issues on penny pinching on video games. if money was such a big issue, maybe less posting on here about how you want to save for the something better.....and more work? just a thought lol.
