[Epic Kirby]

"Phew, sorry guys just saw a big ol spider on the ground!" said Lucas.

Bentham could only stare at Lucas in horror. Had the madness already begun? He coughed as the chewing gum slid down his throat. He looked around him wildly as if he expected witches on brooms to fly out of the trees at any moment... and then he regained himself. He was a doctor of science, Lucas' epicsode could probably be explained as a acute epileptic fit or a minor seizure. Or maybe it had just been a spider that gave him a fright.

"Those blasted spiders, I'm scared of the things myself old boy! Should we get going then?"

With everyone now finally in the car, he started the car and drove off. He wondered what exactly would happen at the road of zombie road. The memory of the floating lady still in his head, he hoped that they would actually find her. He wanted redemption. All of the villagers thought he was insane for claiming what he saw. This time he would prove to everyone he hadn't imagined it. In a matter of time they were there. In front of the narrow road. The haunted road. The cursed road.

"alright...were here. No messing around we walk in, and set up camp. It's getting dark already" said lucas carefully. Their was that look of despair and eternal torture in his eyes. He hid it. He got out of the car, and pulled out a silver pocket watch. The gate slowly became open.

Suddenly, there was a voice that sounded like a muffled yelling. Had the haunting begun?

"Hey! Wait up!" A kid around 5" 5" came running. "I, uh, heard about some expedition to a place called Zombie Road. Am I too late?"

Bentham jumped in shock, flying into Nick and Lucas, almost knocking them over.

"Blasted!" He said in fury to the boy who had just run up to them. "No need to run in on people like that and scare them half to death?!"
Before waiting for the boy to answer Bentham stalked off and began to pitch his tent. Not too far from the others but far enough so that they felt his displeasure. He pulled out his pocket a miniature 'Origin of Species' and began to read furiously by torchlight.

As he read the wind began to pick up so he wrapped himself up in another jumper. The wind almost seemed like it was hissing at him, jeering at him. Suddenly he wished he hadn't pitched his tent so far from the others...

"Its not too late to join" Lucas said to the man standing before him.
Lucas looked at where Bentham was pitching his tent. By a river.

The river of death.

"Bentham! Get out of there! Now!" Lucas screamed as he started running over there. It was too late. Out of the river, came a shadowish floating figure with red eyes on its disfigured skull. and long sharp horns. It was coming for him. It was coming for everyone. And he had to stop it.

Finally they were leaving.

Silver jumped on her motorcycle and began to follow them, the adrenaline was building up in her. When they arrived at their destination Silver parked her motorcycle down river and took out a pair of black binoculars. She watched as a young boy, of about 14 run up to them and the man Bentham move away and pitch his tent.

"All seems to be quiet so far," she muttered to herself. "But you know what they say, the calm before the..."

Silver was unable to finish her sentence, had she been less terrified by what had made her stopped talking then she would have probably dropped her binoculars in fright but what had emerged from the river was too terrifying for that. Instead, her hands stayed glued to them as the shadowy figure descended upon Bentham.

She could no longer hide herself. The time had come.

Just when Lucas began to charge at the demonic river beast, a red pick-up truck roared over a cliff above him and crashed to the ground next to Bentham. A man with a long, black coat pounced out of a man-made sun roof with dual pistols, and opened fire on the demon's skull. Barely making a mark, the monster roared and lunged itself at the man. After executing a successful backflip, the mysterious man with the black coat leaped toward the creature and smashed its skull with the butts of his pistols. Making two large cracks in the bone, the demon fell back and was stunned. The man turned to Lucas and shouted out:

"TAKE IT OUT WHILE IT'S STILL DOWN!!!"

"guns won't do anything to it but slow it down" he said murmuring to himself as he took out his silver pocket watch. He clicked it open. A blue light bursted from the beast and shrieked with pain. It was gone.

"so, who are you?" he said to the man with the red truck

"The name's Matt," said the man while putting his guns back in their holsters. "I heard screaming coming from over the cliff edge, so I decided to investigate. You guys headed to Zombie Road?"

Jon had just witnessed the most terrifying ten minutes of his life. "What is going on here!?!?!?!" he yelled. He was going out of his mind already. Jon ran. and ran. and ran down the road, firing his gun at random. He then fell down and shook, reminding himself of Lucas's supposed "spider scare" earlier. Then everything went black.

Bentham sat in shock, his mouth quivering in fear. All that he had learned about the world, all that was rational, scientific swirled around in his head. The world darkened and he blacked out...

Matt glanced over at Bentham, and looked down the road to see that Jon had collapsed as well. "If we take my pick-up truck, we can make it to Zombie Road much easier. Load those two into the back of the truck and lets get a move on." Matt opened the door to his car and sat in the driver's seat, starting the engine and waiting for everyone to get in.

[Elric]

Lucas saw the two faint and heard matt talking about taking them in his truck. A mysterious smirk came upon his face as he replied

"Sure, why not. The more on our team, the better but we are already at the entrance to zombie road, and we should just camp here for now."

A almost disturbing silence had fallen upon them, as the wind had come to a complete stop. The only thing that was heard was a black raven upon a tree cackling and teasing them.

He turned walking towards bentham, with another almost hidden smirk on his face holding his silver pocket watch in hand.

Groggily, he said, "What happened?"

When Bentham awoke the first thing he saw was a hat and dark grey eyes. He blinked to see Lucas smirking at him. He sat up and rubbed his head and peered round at the new arrivals one had a distinctive band around his eye and dirty blonde hair. Early twenties, Bentham reckoned. The other was a young kid. Bentham stood up and glanced around wondering what the time was it was only then that he realised that Lucas was holding a pocketwatch. A silver one at that.
"Interesting device you've got there?"
He was about to say more but then he remembered everything, the frightening being... that couldn't possibly exist... and he had to sit down again.
