Great title, I read this, "Nintendo Charges 50 Cent for Kids to be on the Nintendo Network" and thought this.
Posted Image and thought this :D "Yeah let the overly rich guy pay. He throws millions of dollars away for making it rain parties as is".
Then I read what it was about and was like, "Awsome, make the little kiddies pay for once".

I think it's a stupid idea, it's making kids fake their age if their parents don't pay and Nintendo could have less Miiverse users!

Kids are most likely to fake their age regardless. Sort of like on Microsoft market place, when DLC on a mature game is not listed unless the user is the age of 18.

I actually believe it would work a lot better the other way around, much like mobile internet. Where you verify you're old enough by using your card. That way, if parents ask why they want their card details and the answer is "to lie about my age to complete strangers on the internet" it's going to be a lot more effective.

It's a good idea. At least maybe now it will keep the little kiddies of Black Ops 2 online. I hate those squeaky voices.

Honestly, it's only 50 cents. Not really a huge deal. But anyway, nothing stops minors from faking their age, so I don't see why anyone thinks it'll prevent them from playing games online. Either way, I think it's funny how some people are overreacting over a measly 50 cents. xD Like come on, paying a subscription fee on Xbox live is something worth complaining about. Does it keep the kiddies away? Nope.

I'm 12 dude, get a life.
Besides, I was talking about like 8 or 9 year olds. I always get paired up with them and they yell and be annoying in the headset.

What happens if you press cancel? Does it ask for your age again?

Ha ha, what?

Im not mad, its just funny. You cant just verify the parents card info Nintendo, you have to actually charge 50 cents to it?

Lol, I would love to see how much money Nintendo.makes from this. It would be like, a million bucks for every 2 million consoles.

Kids will avoid this and change their D.O.B. It's bound to happen.

Kids don't want to go to their parents and go "I need 50 cents so I can play online on Wii U" as half the parents wouldn't understand and have a hissy fit at Nintendo. OMG U R SCAM WIV UR 50 CENTS.

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.
