It took me 7 hours to install the day 1 update and is taking forever to install the little Nintendo Land update.
My internet is super fast on PC. I said it downloaded 100k-1mbytes a second in chat but I might have been a little midleading beause it can technically handle a lot more. Also, I was playing a rather intense game online on the Wii 1, The Last Story.
So... I think it's the hardware. :/

It could also be Nintendo's servers being overwhelmed by the amount of people who are simultaneously downloading that very same update.

The usage with your internet on another device might've affected that.
Either that, or your PC Internet is good, but your wireless Internet is bad. But it definitely isn't the hardware.

Took me about 45 minutes and I have somewhat crappy Internet myself...U-verse but in my area it's only available at max 3mpbs.

With my junky Internet I was expecting to be downloading for most of the afternoon after starting the update at lunch. Surprisingly it went faster than I was predicting. The only connection issue I'm having is when I try posting on Miiverse, I keep getting an error saying could not connect to the server and to try later. Gunna see if there's any progress in the morning.
