Yea thay is what i am saying. To be honest Nintendo has always been like this on downloads. Even on the DS, 3DS, & Wii to get content you bought to a new system you need a bloody transfer cable. Which is down right stupid if a system fails. This whole lock to one system crap needs to change or I for one will not be buying digital from Nintendo and I am very pro digital. (PC 90% digital, PS Vita 100% digital, PS3 50% digital, Xbox 360 30% digital, & Nintendo Wii/DS 0%).
Preinstalled games are not the same as games linked to your PSN account. Sony has every purchase made tied to on PSN ID which can be activated on multiple console & content can be activated usually on 2 PS3's & 2 handheld devices at once. Which can be deactivated via the device or online via Sony's website. This is all similar to how Microsoft does things as well, at least linking to an account & sometimes having pre-installed content to the HDD. Yet Nintendo still lives in the past on digital.....
Its all tried into a system with id.
The psn does give you 2 systems like you said. But the nintendo has always been 1.

this i agree. i only be retail anyways. but still.Tsk, tsk, tsk Nintendo. Our consoles are going to break eventually, and you decide to make an account system to store our purchases so we can keep our games. What's that? Accounts are tied to the console, even if it breaks and you can't transfer?

I know what you were saying, but your making it sound as if it was the same thing. Preinstalled games are not tied to an account for one & two PSN accounts & content can be deactivated from the said console or via a computer at the users own free will. Your not forced to go buy another console & some form of transfer method such as a cable or SD card to hope the data is not locked like Nintendo loves to do. (I literly have game saves that are locked to my Wii only. No taking that to my Wii U, pfft). If no means of transfer is at your disposal, such as the said Nintendo console dies you not getting the stuff back. Nintendo does not have the same kind of normal & logical digital distribution methods. They are stuck in the past methods used in early DD, if not that then Nintendo is one of two things. 1) Trying to take more money out of your pocket. 2) Super stupid as they think video games are like music downloads.Yea thay is what i am saying.

Blizzard is a mystery to be honest. The same thing can be said in reverse for StarCraft II. To get the bloody disc to install (in most all cases) you basically have to command prompt the mount of the disc to load the installer without getting a stupid error. Leaving you with the digital copy being a better option.Like most, I also like to have a phyiscal copy of a game, I recently did digital download for new world of warcraft...and each time i downloaded it never worked....but then I went to go buy it..on phyislcal CD and what do you know, it worked.....

OMG dude that is ridiculous, lets hope Ninetndo sorts this one out.
I don't think they will. I just found this out the hard way w/ my PS3. I finally upgraded my 4 year old PS3 to the new 500 GB one. was all happy. backed up all the movies, videos, etc that I had purchased in the PS store to my external hard drive. I was even able to restore them to my new system, but when I went to play, it sent me to the PS store, where I was told I needed to re-purchase the movie. Supposedly, according to Sony, it's not a Sony thing, it's not a Nintendo thing, it's a copyright issue. the industry is afraid people will download the movie, then give their network ID to someone, else, who in turn will just download to their system, etc. sucks, but I don't see any way it's goign to change. Best thign to do? do NOT buy these digital movies, games, etc.

Movies are one thing, not sure how all that goes on Sony or Microsoft (Only digital movies I have would be from Vudu & I have no issue there), but games are another. Games on any of these devices such as PS3/Vita, Xbox 360, & PC have DD services with the ability to redownload anything as much as you wish. However, PS3/Vita & Xbox 360 do have means of deactivating or activating of content on a said console. Meaning you do have to take a little more time than say on a PC, but you still are not locked out of your games, DLC, or other game related content. Yet, Nintendo just does not get this......I don't think they will. I just found this out the hard way w/ my PS3. That's not strictly true. It does apply to movies but that's the movie studios doing and nothing to do with the console manufacturers. It's doesn't apply to games and games related content.

who the hell buys digital games anyways?
There are digital exclusive games ( Mighty Switch Force, Scott Pilgrim, Sonic 4, etc.), so digital can be your only choice for these games.

at least not yet...
my buddy just found this out the hard way.
he purchased nintendoland,mario u,zombi u,and warriors orochi 3.
his system had a boot error and wouldn't load the games.. so he took it back and was lucky enough to get another console.
well here is the kicker upon getting home and trying to download his games on his new system he couldn't even use the same nintendo network id.
seems that everything you buy is tied to your account ,which in turn is tiede to your console.. makes sense right ?, but here is the kicker.. its that console only.. you cant transfer you cant get a new or used system at a later date and retain your purchases.
you have to start all over and loose all the money you just spent.
he has been on the phone and in e-mail contact with over 5 different divisions of nintendo every since and every time he is told sorry that is the way it is.. re-purchase the games again with a new account for the new system and try again... sorry for any inconvenience...!!!
to me this is totally unacceptable.
so stay away from digital right now until nintendo gets this straightened out or else it seems like you are just wasting money if something happens to your system.
Does your friend has an external hard drive connected to the USB port of the Wii U?
