I have played it that way and I completely agree with you. But that's the issue. Playing that way changes the experience completely. But what can you say for those who don't have the luxury of playing this way? For a game that's suppose to market the Wii U, a system meant to reinvent the way games handle the single player experience, why is the experience dependent on multiplayer? Not to mention a single player is actually limited while playing the game. Online could have changed this, it would've have created the same magic, but playing with some of the users on here would've made the experience better than what I get by myself.

I didn't give a full review for reason being I already gave one in the site's unofficial podcast (link in signature).

I can't disagree with what you're saying. I'm sure that it would have been great, but I'm guessing the biggest limiting factor was trying to find a way to determine who gets to play what role. I also imagine that since it isn't a Drop In/Out style game, It would bring gameplay to a halt if somebody dropped from your game. Have you played the New Mario Bros? I find it has the opposite effect. The more people playing that one, the less fun I seem to have. anyone have an opinion on the Multi for Mario?

It's quite similar to NSMB Wii in that the more players there are on screen the more chaotic and hectic the gameplay is. My wife and I usually end up becoming mortal enemies when we're playing together. However, the new Boost Mode, where one player helps by inserting blocks via the Gamepad, is actually pretty awesome especially when a less experienced player is the one actually doing the platforming, and the more skilled one is helping them out through block placements.

That one is a toughy. When I play Co-Op in Mario (someone has the gamepad, someone has the Wii Mote), the experience is both infuriating, hilarious and fun (WiiMote Guy: WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT A PLATFORM DOWN TO SAVE ME? Gamepad Guy: WHY DO YOU SUCK?). The more players on the screen, the more hectic it is (obviously). For some, this is where the fun begins. Everything is everywhere, you're scrambling around, it's ruining friendships! AMAZING! For others, it's just plan aggravating, knowing that the game actually seems to make more people playing more of a nuisance instead of a cooperative experience. I think it comes down to preference on this one. I prefer both at different times, so it's hard for me to say anything about it.

I'm going to have to try using the gamepad while my girlfriend platforms then, Thanks for the tip.

Nintendo Land - 90/100. Decent handful of mini-games, can keep a party entertained for hours. Careful not to drop the GamePad though as a lot of the games require it to be passed around. And remember to wipe it down once everyone has left, there will be a ton of germs lol.

New Super Mario Bros. U - 80/100. It's not innovative enough beyond what the Wii version of NSMB brought. The GamePad during "Boost Mode" just lets you tap to add blocks for the other players, oh joy. Nobody REALLY wants to be stuck making blocks, people want to play the characters. They could've done more but didn't.

Scribblenauts Unlimited - 90/100. If you're a Scribblenauts fan, you'll love this game. The GamePad makes playing a lot of fun.

Ben 10 Omniverse - 90/100. My 3yr old son knows the cartoon series and enjoys this game a lot.

sonic and all-stars racing transformed bonus edition - 80/100. My 3yr old son finds this game a bit too hard, the computers are too aggressive and it's really difficult for him to place. I myself find challenges a good thing, and to win you will be challenged a bit. Don't get me wrong, teenagers and above can place 1st with a try or two. But there are levels that are glitched and you can't progress. And multiplayer glitches a lot, even local play. There's a map where if you fall off the parking garage, you'll just fall infinitely and die repeatedly until the other player wins - a bit annoying especially to my son.

Tank! Tank! Tank! - 80/100. If it had manual aiming with the right thumb stick, I'd give this a 85/100. If you could customize or upgrade your tanks, I'd give it a 90/100. But you can't do either, and the campaign levels are repetitive. With that said though, kids really eat this game up and enjoy the multiplayer modes.

Skylanders Giants Starter Kit Wii U - 90/100 so far. I'm about 25% complete, if you factor in the expansions that I had previously bought for the original Skylanders game (keep those expansion pieces, they unlock new levels in Giants as well!) So far the levels do seem longer than the original Skylanders game, which is a huge plus in my opinion. I love the Giants and that they didn't ruin the gameplay, they made certain parts better but retained everything that made the original so great. Highly recommend this game.

Rabbids Land - 80/100. It's got a ton of mini-games, they're easy to pick up on quickly, even for my 3yr old son. He also loves the cartoon humor.

ZombiU - 70/100. This game gets mixed reviews everywhere. It's not a hack 'n slash, it's not a shoot 'em up, it's a survival game. You're given regular human strength, and you find weapons and try to survive. If you've got more than 2 zombies coming at you, you'll likely die. And then you have to go find your former self, hope your former self isnt in a group of zombies, and kill yourself to regain what you had in your bag. Fun for about an hour at a time, but it's a bit depressing and not a game you'll be playing with a group of people because it'll bore the hell out of everyone.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - 90/100. Love this game on the Wii U, the graphics are great and the gameplay on both the GamePad and the Pro Controller works well. I enjoy playing it on the Wii U just as equally as on my 360 (brother-in-law bought it for 360).

Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper - 90/100. ADDICTING. Love hack 'n slash, and with all the characters you can unlock and play, this game will eat time like crazy. 2 player story mode? Yes please. You can do split screen, OR 1 person gets GamePad and 1 person gets the whole TV. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Then there's the battlegrounds and the multiplayer modes - glad I got this game. One of my favorite Wii U games.

ESPN Sports Connection 60/100 - Unfortunately it's just a tad too hard for my 3yr old son to play right now, I'm sure if he played it nonstop he'd pick it up but it's just a bit too advanced. Feels like I've gotta put forth too much effort to play the games, not really sure why that is. Not sure I'd recommend buying it, but this is really after only 30 minutes of playing it so perhaps I'll play it more playing with an older kid or even another adult.

Transformers - Honestly I have not played this game yet.
Darksiders II - Haven't got to this game either.

New Super Mario Bros. U is very good. Addicting, but you all have an idea about this game.

ZombiU is pretty good as well. Great lighting, difficult, and an interesting interpretation on a worn out genre.

New Super Mario Bros. U, ZombiU, Darksiders II, Lego City Undercover, Little Inferno, New Super Luigi U, Earthbound, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, The Wonderful 101...

I have Ninty-land and NSMBU.

I'd give Nintendo Land... 95/100. Metroid blast alone gives it about 50 of those points; it's just that amazing. However, there is one attraction that I find... Well, kinda boring. That is, octopus dance. Other than that, it's a great game!

As for NSMBU, I haven't played it all the way through yet... But from what I've seen so far, I'd give it a... 85/100. It's dangerously fun, just like it's Wii predecessor, but it lacks something. Originality. Amazement. Wow-factor. It just didn't strike me with that awe that NSMBWii did. Sure, the graphics are awesome, but the gameplay does feel quite similar. Too similar. One thing that makes it great is that you don't have to beat every world to win. This means that even after you're "done" playing the game, there's plenty more to do. It does seem a bit short, though. I've only traversed about 5 worlds, and I'm already basically at Peach's castle. I need to play it with some friends to get the true feel of it, though.

Until then, this has been my review of Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U.

The GamePad during "Boost Mode" just lets you tap to add blocks for the other players, oh joy. Nobody REALLY wants to be stuck making blocks, people want to play the characters.

Not nobody... My somewhat non-gamer sister likes it. :P

I have Nintendo Land and NSMBU.

Nintendo Land/ 6.0
I like the game, but it gets boring. Also I hate the fact that their are three games that I cannot play unless I have someone with me their to play. The games are fun but after a while I get tired of playing them. I will say the game is very fun when playing together with people. The graphics are nice and look wonderful in HD. I like the music too. For a game of Mini Games it is decent, but nothing special. Nintendo should have gone Wii style and released a WarioWare game at launch. That would have been a great way to show off the system capabilities and would have been far more fun.

NSMBU/ 4.0
This game right here just gets me angry on all levels. I do not see what everyone else sees in this game. Or the others in the series for that matter. This game is a sad excuse for 2D Mario, and it makes me sad to see this is what it has become.

The level design everyone loves so much is crap. I really don't know why everyone is raving. The levels are wack and not a single one is memorable. I got through to the last world and I cannot remember any level specifically save for one. The ghost house in the ice world. Only because it took me a while to beat. The levels are boring and the design is nowhere near that of previous 2D Mario games. I quit playing the game because I realized I was forcing myself to try and like the game because it was part of a brand new system I just bought.

Music for this game sucks. Not a single song is good. Nothing stands out at all. It's all the same and it's boring. I can't believe there are no songs in this game that get stuck in my head. In Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2 all the songs were amazing and you always caught yourself humming them. Same with the others like Super Mario Bros 2 and 3.

To me it seems like Nintendo doesn't care about 2D Mario anymore. And it seems that they only poor all their heart and soul and hard work into the 3D titles now. They should just stop making the 2D games if they are just going to be doing this to it. But it makes money somehow so I see why it goes on. I know for sure I am never buying another NSMB game ever. Probably never buy another 2D Mario ever either unless they start changing things which seems unlikely.

Right now what I am doing on my Wii U is playing through Super Mario Galaxy for the first time. Borrowed it from my brother since I missed out on the game. I might as well play a good Nintendo game while I wait for a good first party Nintendo game to come out.

No point in going up to 100.

Nintendo land : 7,
Its a cool pack of mini games. Its kinda lil wii sports. Lets u see wht the system can do. Would i buy it? Probably not unless it was around $15-$20, or $40 with a wii mote.

Assassin Creed 3 : 9,
Looks great, plays smooth. Love playing it fron the gamepad. And overall its just a great game. Fun to play amd nice to look at.

ZombiU : 9
The.best damn real zombi game out there. Its hardcore. Its not a simple fps, its all about living n making it. Adds new horror to cideo games. Also runs very smooth and looks great. and love the game play. You die you die. You start as someone else and gotta pick off where they left off. There is only a hand full of games that do that. Its great. And hard mode is 1 life so you die thats it.
