I'm confused. My internet is 20mb from Virgin Media, when I get my Wii U on the 30th I'm expecting it to be sort of fast, because everything else is lightning quick for me, if not I will just download the update in the backround while I play some games and install it later.
Say you're downloading something off the internet, how much kb/s would it usually say?

I live in the UK, our internet speeds are very decent, we have SuperFast Fibre Optic internet cables rolled out pretty much everywhere! It only costs about £15 - £20 a month too.

From SPeedtest.com
39.7 Mbps download (Crappy provider, its supposed to be 50)
4.2 upload.
And not close to blazing fast here. Though the OP is on fire.
Hour time was most likely Nintendo side servers overloaded with everybody and their grandma trying to update.

No. Do not go with Virgin Media. If you have any problems with them, they will not deal with you and keep shrugging you off. We were with them a year, just coming off the contract now (Virgin asked us to leave because we had to keep ringing them every day with internet problems and they wouldn't fix them) and we're on Sky now (Sky internet comes back next week) and we're so happy to be back with Sky.
Virgin do not give a damn about you. They are not super fast. They are not who they say they are. They are greedy, dismissive, and rude.
Go with Sky dude. Never need to hear a peep from them.

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

I've never had a problem with Virfin Media, I just got a V+HD Box a HDMI cable and the instailation for free and had no problems at all, Sky are the worst company in my opinion, we had nothing but trouble with them, so much as a fart would mess with your satellite dish and screw the picture up on the TV.

Anyway. Took me about 1 hour. I am sure there was a lot of stress on Nintendo servers on the 18th.
