The next generation of graphics and games is heavely based on the gpu. Almost everything is simulated and rendered with the gpu.
Since the CPU and memory is cheap ones and the system still is 300 bucks shouldn't that meant that the gpu is really good?

Nintendo know how to make a console, but it seems that to get the best out of it it needs a lot of work, this is what happened with the PS3 & there are way too many problems with multi-platform games.

It can't run unreal engine 4, only unreal engine 3.9 then the huge jump to 4 is too muchWell this is gonna sound funny but this "kinda confirms that wii u truly is nextgen."

If you bought it for nintendo games then you're ok but if it's 3rd party you wanted then you messed upThis is why nintendo kept the specs hidden and never said anything. I hope I dont regret my wii u purchase we will def get awsome first party games but dont see much of a reason to buy third party on the wii u when the next box and ps4 will look way better and be able to do more wit hthe game as far as having more enmys on screen and other awsome graphics.

As for 3rd party, it just depends how powerful the 720/PS4 are.

Yeah I basically bought it for mario mario kart zelda metroid brawl and all other first party nintendo games but had a feeling third party was going to jump ship on wiiu. I got assasins creed 3 coming this week for the u and will prob get the new aliens game on the u too along with blops 2. A part of me was hoping this was going to be my main system but that was foolish cause i love halo and gears and xbox live and love playstation for there exclusives so i will have all the consoles once again. It can't run unreal engine 4, only unreal engine 3.9 then the huge jump to 4 is too much

So, to get this straight, a developer says its hard as it is to develop for ps3. NO WONDER THERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE WII U IF THEY CAN'T EVEN PORT TO THE PS3!! how long have they had to get used to the ps3?????
Siriusly, this is one of the few developers that say the cpu is bad. It sounds like lazy developers who think throwing ram and power at the game makes it run faster. you have to look at the system and set the coding for the system to utilize the power.
The ram. there's more to ram than what you think. The Wii U makes use of smaller but much faster eDRAM, which is used to send more urgent data quicker. they obviously haven't looked at the system fully enough to understand it.The power is there. thy just don't know how to use it.
DICE, siriusly? The company who make battlefield all day, Dice are one of the most lazy developers out there. Why don't they do something new? how about making mirrors edge two?
I just don't understand how a 7 year old CPU is more powerful than a present gen CPU. Even the least powerful CPUs you buy are more powerful than the xbox CPU.
Also, Don't forget its been found out that Nintendo also added extra microchips, such as a dedicated sound processor, and extra graphics capabilities so that developers can use the CPU for only processing purposes.
Rant over.

... I don't see an issue (at least not yet) with 3rd party support considering that these are really big companies supporting the new console; and according to Reggie, there are announcements still to be made. They knew about the Wii U specs way before we did, but it didn't deter them from bringing over their most popular franchises to the Wii U.
Now it remains to be seen IF the Wii U will continue to have good 3rd party support, but for right now, I'm not worried. In fact, this is probably the first Nintendo console EVER where most of the games at launch are NOT 1st party titles.

Let's look at the current list of third party publishers that has released or confirm to be releasing titles for the Wii U during the launch window:
- Activision
- Capcom
- Ubisoft
- WB
- 2K Sports
- Sega
- Namco

The issue is though that Nintendo cannot rely on it's first party titles much longer, once we have had Mario U, Zelda U, Pikmin U, Metriod U& Mario kart U what is left for Nintendo & more importantly us gamers ?
I have had all the Nintendo consoles since the NES & i love Nintendo & their games, but i simply won't buy a console anymore for a few games over the consoles life, most of the titles i have mentioned are some of the best games of the generation, but you also get great Platform, RPG Strategy, FPS & racing games on Sony & Microsofts consoles plus many many other titles.
The Wii U multi-platform games need to be better than the PS3/X360 counterparts to draw people away from their PS3's & X360's do not forget lots of games are multi-player now & the Nintendo system is pretty poor, so if there are not enough people playing Call Of Duty Black Opps 2 on the Wii U will people buy a game for a Wii U if they can play with more people on their PS3/X360 ?
If the Wii U fails me then i would be buying the next Nintendo console for sometime after it's release if at all.
I have said the Wii U needs games & it needs games along the lines of GTA V & not six or eight months after it's released on the PS3/X360 either, most games coming out for the Wii U are out on the PS3/X360 before hand like Tomb Raider 2013 for example, so what will people who own a Wii U & either a PS3/X360 do they will buy it on that instead because that is what i will do, also the games are cheaper on the PS3/X360 to.
Nintendo need to do more & do it fast !

Now that the console is out and developers with actual names say its bad what happens next? I probably wouldn't get it if it means another 6 years of lack luster 3rd party trash with the occasional 1st party jewel. Luckily i didn't buy it the 1st day. Even if some users of this forum were calling me out as A sony drone cause i didn't buy 1st day
Spoiler
maybe you dont know a carp, maybe is the trend of the next gen consoles, next xbox cpu is now rumored to be slower than the 360 cpu too , seriously you are beign annoying like all the other people repeating the same carp about the cpus over and over, just shut the Wii up and buy what you feel like god dammit

Don't have the money to invest in a second or third console? Maybe you should stop buying games because it's not like it's cheap being a gamer these days.
