Apart from turning the volume controls an the TV and gamepad is there any way to get rid of that annoying repetitive music that plays while the menu is showing and when games are loading?

I don't think there is, although even though I haven't checked all the settings menus I really doubt I'd find a toggle. It's kinda like that with all the consoles, and the Mute/Volume Slider works fine for turning it off.

Nintendo's not big on customisation so even a small thing like disabling music probably wont be possible.

This pisses me off so much, it got irritating literally 1 minute after I booted the damn thing, I don't care what anyone says, it's annoying, repetitive and gets stale real quick while making the feel of the console really stupid.

It really should, this isn't really a small thing since you're in the menu for so long a lot of the times.But really, small things like these are very unlikely to have their own disabling option.

In the grand scheme of things it's a minor thing. If you don't like it feel free to mute whenever you're in the menu, or pump up that puck rock or whatever it is you PWN3 like through your headphones.
