If there's no support for multiple Wii U controllers then I might not buy a Wii U in the first place. And no I do not want to continue playing with my crappy Wii remotes, I could not stand another 6 years of that.

Yes, I would buy a new controller but whether or not developers will make games that allow for two Wii U controllers is another question. I think they will in the future when the controller can be manufactured for cheaper but until then the most the other controller could be used for is a spare.

Not really.
Assuming that the Wii U is only compatible with one controller.

I'm mostly a single player gamer. As much as I'd love to play local multiplayer, I don't really know many gamer heads like me anymore. Which is a shame, because local multiplayer can get hilarious sometimes.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Apparently the wii U can use more than one new constroller;

Quote: "Let me correct something that is a misconception," (Matt) Ryan began. "We said that the Wii U system will come with one Wii U controller, but we haven't said that you can only use one Wii U controller. The fact is that if the developer makes a game or an experience that uses more than one, then anything is possible."

And it has some ability to save data that can be taken to a friends and used on their Wii U.

Quote: "Okay, so that I can elaborate on. The Wii U is not a portable handheld device you're going to take with you in transit or into a proximity away from the Wii U console, but you can take content from your console, put it on your Wii U controller, take it with you somewhere else, and be able to upload it. That technology is possible."

As for the appearance of the new controller, with it being so flat, I think it is only a matter of time before customising kits of stickers, giving different "themes" are made by a third party. I'm going for flames on black!

I would buy another Wii U controller if a good co-op game was going to get released on the Wii U.

Battlefield and CoD aren't very deep experiences, and I don't think the Wii U will change that :3 I'd much rather see how something like a cooperative RPG would work with the WiiPads.

I can very well see CoD being interacting and fun with the wiiu pad.
Imagine placing a claymore with the hole wiiupad, or having the view of an rcxd or helicopter on the screen

I dont think we shud bash away franchises from the wiiu for being "boring". Cuz with the controller, i dont think they can be. ;)

i rarely ever get the oppurtunity to play multiplayer & yet i still buy multiplayer games..... so yes i will, could be for backup too. if the WiiU is going to have any games with full ability and freedom CO-OP, then it should support multiple controllers. Imagine going online with buddies and playing Monster Hunter / Metroid coop then going having a friend visit with his controller with his gamesave on it, and continue playing online with buddies with another buddy. just ... imagine.

Ive thought about this lots, and all i keep coming back to is this......
You no when your playing a 2 player game and one of the controlers is either, a bit doggy or its a crappy 3rd party copy, theres always arguments about who has which one. And rightly so! its important, and fair that both players have the same controler purely for the fact that it makes it afair match!
Just imagine ur about to play streetfighter, and you have the wii u controler, and u hand ur friend a wii mote and nunchuck! Its not right.

Yes, I would definitely buy another Wii U touch pad. Asymmetrical gaming sounds interesting, but to NOT have the option of playing
on an even playing field, except thru online, does not sound like the right move.

I was rather disappointed when I heard that they wanted to focus on 1 touch pad per system, and was somewhat relieved when
I heard the rumor that they may allow more than 1 per console.
I DO hope they have a robust online set-up, but I REALLY HOPE they don't start to neglect local gaming.

I wont need one because i'm always alone
shucks.....

Agreed, I only have a few friends that even play games and most of them don't care about the Wii U.
Shucks....

P.S I might buy one of the worst quality cheap third party awkward to hold ones and give that to my friends when if they come round.

I would get a least one extra, or more, as long as if I have enough money and if it isn't really expensive for an extra controller.
