It's safe to assume both the next gen Xbox and Playstation will come with plenty of Wii U crushing specs which will never fully be utilised and come with plenty of technical problems and a high price tag.

They were referring to the similarity that the PS3 was hard to get the same performance as Xbox 360 without learning the intricacies of the SPUs. Looking at it from that angle, the Wii U is in a similar position.

However the Wii U is only complicated because you have to optimise for the different instruction set and offload CPU tasks to the GPU where possible, the latter of which developers have already been learning on PCs for some time now.

This is hugely different to the PS3 as developers had to learn to utilise co-processors alongside the PS3 CPU, using an architecture nothing like what is used on any other platform. So in that respect no, the Wii U is not nearly as bad.

Like others said the Wii U is heavly focused on the GPU unlike the Ps3/360, according to insiders the Xbox 720 and PS4 will also focus on GPU's and will also use GPGPU's, and the Wii U is Out of Order versus the PS3/360 In Order, so devs just need to know how to develop for stuff like this.

Architecture does mean something and Wii U does have that going for it. I still will have to see it to believe it speaking of 3rd party support. I just dont see them giving a damn about the Wii U.im at this point going to be optimistic that im going to be surprised at E3 2013 with games announced for Wii U. but i have faith in the fact that nintendo 1st and 2nd party games will EASILY be able to keep up with the next xbox and playstation from a visual standpoint. people are seriously underestimating what nintendo dev will accomplish this gen. personally i cant wait to see the collective JAWS drop!

It'll be interesting to see who far the Wii U can be pushed. Will they produce (actual) 1080p games for the Wii U

It's power pc, which is one of the oldest architectures.
It's out of order which I don't know a lot about, but people claim doesn't need to be programmed for specially, but imo it'd need a decent amount of tweaking to use it properly.
it's multi-core, which is now many many years old.

I don't see it being a problem.
It's as difficult as the 360 was 6 or 7 years ago I'd say.

sorry but it is NOT a power pc

Its an unknown customization of an unknown base model of the ppc 750 family.

Fx/fl is heavily suspected as the base. But if it isnt, then there is no way of telling what the base model is as ibm stopped publicly documenting the 750 in 2006.

And that's my problem NOONE knows!so I hope people will stop pretending like they do. Even this so called hacker I don't believe. He so called know what the CPU is or the bse of but he doesn't know what the GPU is or based off of. He gave us clock speeds but didn't explain how he got them.

Hector is the person who hacked the wii, and ps3. Hes the reason we have the homebrew channel and unbrickable wii's.

Once you have access to running code on a system, finding the clock speed is incredibly easy. He doesnt need to tell us how, its as easy as a memory dump.

Its a 750, no way around it. And as a 750, on a 45nm process, that clock speed is on the money. It cant get much higher. But its definately not broadway. Espresso has smp support, something ibm would have given anything for the 750 family in 2004/2005... If they had it, ibm would have never lost apple over the garbage g5's, and there would be no such thing as icores.

If that's the case why couldn't the developers running code on Wii U said that. To me it's too easy for him to say what he is saying. He is basically telling people on twitter "3 Broadway's with more cache" and that's it. He has done more harm than good it this conversation and debate.

Because they are under nda for such things.

No, he hasnt, if you are only going to put in the tiniest fraction of a microcosm of effort on this subject, and by that i mean not goodly basing EVERY irritating erroneous thing you say off of one early tweet as if hes NEVER said anything else on the subject, and putting tons of effort in mother doging and whining about it and ZERO effort into looking at anything else, then why dont you just not.

Has he said more things yes but I have now followed him on twitter. I'm sorry responding to anyone saying just 3 Broadway's with more cache is just contributing to the negative feeling the media and gamers alike have for this console. Most already believe the Wii U is no better than what was given to us 7 years ago.

Plain and simple his so call finding didn't help the discussion at all. He only helped confused the already confused people who really don't know much at all. I will base my judgement off what Nintendo has been quoted saying what the Wii U is capable of and they paint a clear picture.

Thats because the confused people should either educate themselves or stop talking about crap they have no clue about as if they were subject matter experts.

Nothing he has EVER said has EVER been meant for anyone outside. Its HIS twitter feed, Not a blog, he is not responsible for educating posers, and a sarcastic dismissal of 'yes, its just 3 broadways with more cache' totally worse than 360, never mind the five or so tweets i just did to stop morons who shouldnt even have this information because they have no clue what to do with it from crying over the 'low' clock speed is more than they deserve.

But come on 3dude... Every gamer and their mama was waiting on CPU GPU clock speeds. Him coming out being the first to post the so called speeds. He had to know he would become Wii U expert over night even if he didn't want that title. That's like coming out saying you found the fountain of youth then saying I don't want any attention from it I just wanted people to know yes it really exist. Even you stated multiple times that whatever is in the Wii U is something that has never existed even in the 750 line do to smp support. So an any way for him to say yes three broadway more cache in itself as a single post is not smart. It misleads people to actually think what's in the Wii U is the SAME CPU in the wii.... Which is FAR from the truth.

Those people are irrelevant on their own volation.

He hasnt done anything different than he did with wii, or ps3. Those people are nothing more than a temporary annoyance, same as theyve always been. They dont have the attention span, resolve, or constitution to be anything else. If they did, they would have taken the time and oh so little effort to educate themselves.
