wii U at this point is good for those who play console games (console gamers) and mostly for those who buy a console for a first time, AT DATE, its a waste of money to buy a 360 and ps3 at this point (they will die in 1-2 years).. Because right now, if u own many consoles and especially a PC... there is no point yet buying it... It needs some good games to give us some good reasons of buying it. Also I dont like AT ALL the mysticism around it by nintendo, its more like they afraid of something.. Nintendo before original Wii, always gave information's about their products, since Wii, they stopped it.

I dont support the OP for what he did, because I consider the whole thing idiotic... Not a sensible buyer... You buy something, you play a bit, turn it back get your refund and rasp it over the internet... hmmm That means your not a nintendo fanboy and you didnt think before you buy... you just follow the trend, you may not a gamer at all!!

there is 2 categories of customers, those who are fans and lovers, so they buy it at release date (whatever the cost and product actually is) and those who prefer to research and give it some time get some more titles, mature a bit... Now it seems there is 3 categories :)

How did you return it? Does the store take returns for opened game systems?

Nintendo does not put package tape on anything in these boxes. If he took the time and effort to put everything back in the bags, put the twist ties back on, and neatly put everything back in place it could look like new. A store could open it up and not even really know. I mean how can a worker say it was never opened one-hundred percent when there are no sealing to a package? Given the right store they may just take a quick look and/or check the serial number on the box and compare it to the receipt. (Not saying this is what he did. Yet it is likely he did do it if he got an actual return for the full amount).

This does make sense. I wonder if he formatted the system's memory.

This isn't a rant nor anything along those lines, I just wish to express my experience with the console and hear other's opinions.

I enjoyed my wii u for the first few days, I will not deny it.  The gamepad was pretty cool, and the system seemed to work nicely. However, this enjoyment slowly faded day by day, and this is why:

1) Gamepad: Maybe it was just me, but I found it to be more of a hassle to use more than anything else. For instance, when playing COD, I literally never used it to view the entire map.  It's just too difficult in gameplay to look down at a screen. The only benefit of this was playing in bed, which I did enjoy.

2) Bland interface: Granted this can get updated over time, it just seemed really boring, even for a new release.  I was expecting more customizing with your mii's, something more along the lines of 360, to really give a personal feel to the console and enhance the community.

3) ***Too many controllers: This was probably the overriding factor for my return. I couldn't stand the fact that different games use different controllers. If any of you are like me, I strongly disliked the wii mote and anything that had to do with the old wii system.  What I wanted out of it was mainly to use a more gamer controller, i.e. the newly released pro controller, and was super excited Nintendo was making one. The issue I kept running into, however, was that certain games required this controller, certain games required this attachment, blah blah.  This made me incredibly frustrated. I found it completely unacceptable that their new pro controller was not fully supported by all the new wii u games when it could have been.  I feared a future where this issue would repeatedly come about, forcing me to always switch controllers and never really get used to one.

Even in a world where it was only the gamepad and wii u pro controller, I still would find it frustrating. Your hands don't adjust when jumping from the gamepad to the pro quick enough. For instance, playing cod on the gamepad I eventually got used to, but once I made the switch, it would take me a good game or two to get the feel for the smaller layout.

So, at the end of the day, I returned the wii u and picked up a 360. It gives me comfort that everyone can only use one type of controller, and it will work with everything out there. Not to mention, there's a huge mic issue with the wii u, where its only on the gamepad, which isn't an issue with the 360.

So you're broke and needed the money???

This does make sense. I wonder if he formatted the system's memory.

If not someone might be a lucky owner of some digital content. Be that if he bought some content. Hopefully not if he was trading the system off. Considering how the console works in terms of accounts he would be quiet unhappy if he ever came back to buying a Wii U upon drop of price and/or more games released. Meh, not like he can do much about it now either way if he did or didn't. (shrugs)

So you're broke and needed the money???

Broke and needed the money? If that was the case why would he have bought a 360 after return? Unless he got a used console, those things run for 250USD in stores. Then depending on which bundle of Wii U he got then his money would be either all gone or almost all gone. Being as Wii U Basic is 230USD and Deluxe is 350USD. Maybe he needed a pack of soda or something with what was left over? xD (Not to mention if the console did not come with any games he wanted to play).

Mine is not working properly and I'm afraid Walmart will give me grief over returning/exchanging it with their return policy getting stricter. Did you have any trouble returning yours?

They may let more things slip after holidays. Being as there are so many people to deal with exchanging. Though, do you not have a gift and/or regular receipt & under said return date? If it is not working right and you need an exchange, it will likely go much easier than a return.

If your talking about what the OP said, you are very very far off what he said. You have read it all wrong. He was talking about how games made him have to switch back and forth from the gamepad to the pro controller as it would not support it in everything. How exactly is that trolling?
