You don't get a new emblem every 50 or so posts, though
I think once you get the Chain Chomp, you get a new rank every 100 posts, I could be wrong though.

I think you're right, but up until now it was about 50. Just doing a relative comparison
Indeed.

I've currently set the next rank after Chain Chomp at 700 posts. I warned you all earlier that ranks wouldn't be every 50 posts forever. I need to be careful with my list of Mario enemies so I don't run out too quickly.I think once you get the Chain Chomp, you get a new rank every 100 posts, I could be wrong though.

700?! That means my mission to 600 today was for nothing?!I've currently set the next rank after Chain Chomp at 700 posts. I warned you all earlier that ranks wouldn't be every 50 posts forever. I need to be careful with my list of Mario enemies so I don't run out too quickly.

Yes. 700 is a lot of posts, that's more posts than you have, Feld0!

Sorry for missing your post, NinjaShock!I think it would be cool if every time we reach the post count for a new rank it could count as "unlocking it" and we could choose to use any of the ranks we've unlocked so far. And Guides really do need their own rank like mods/admins, I think we should have an official thread to vote for what it would be.
I think that's a neat idea, but it kind of defeats the purpose of the ranking system, which is supposed to pass increasingly active members off as superior species.
As for Guides having their own rank, it's a good idea, but I don't know what they could be that would resonate well with all of them. Guides, after all, are a much larger and less selective group than the mods and admins.
Maybe I should make all the guides ponies... jk.

Maybe (if it's possible) we could have a few different guide ranks for people to choose from?

That's not possible in IP.Board, or any other forum software I know of.Maybe (if it's possible) we could have a few different guide ranks for people to choose from?
What I could do is allow Guides to set their own user title. Badges can only be set by post count or by group (e.g.: all admins and mods have Yoshi badges, and everyone else is on the post counter-based badges), so you won't be able to change that, but you could edit your user title - the text that appears over your avatar (or personal photo, as IPB calls it).
I haven't touched the ranks. All I did was edit my user title. Normally, they're synced with your rank, but I can use my admin powers to make mine whatever I want.Feld0 changed the ranks! He's is not a Yoshi any more...

I count user titles a ranks, since they're the only way of telling what you are other than the badges. And some ranks don't have them.I haven't touched the ranks. All I did was edit my user title. Normally, they're synced with your rank, but I can use my admin powers to make mine whatever I want.
