Anyone for Streets of Rage 2 or GameCube games playable on the GamePad? Since Wii games are upscaled in 1080p I am wondering if the Wii U Virtual Console will have that feature too.

So in theory games released on the VC should look better.

The gamecube can do 480p with most games, and the gamepad is 480p. But yes, they would theoretically be better looking on the gamepad, but that would be due to anti-aliasing, higher quality textures, and widescreen, which not many gamecube games had.I just realised something, the Wii U GamePad's screen is actually higher resolution than the Gamecube could output.
So in theory games released on the VC should look better.
I will not die until I achieve something. Even though the ordeal is high, I never give in. Therefore, I die with no regrets~Ikaruga Prologue

And I wasn't really a gamer in the GameCube days
I have heard great things about Super Mario Sunshine and various other titles, plus they will probably look even better now
