Seeing as it's a 4chan post without links or evidence, it is likely a lie. It would be amazing if there were a Wii U Mega, as I still play gamecube games and the purple would be an instant buy.

I would like to also know why people think nintendo would bother to make new hardware just so people could play the disc versions of games that are now 2 generations old ? Common sense tells you its not a viable business decision.

Yeah I'm willing to bet Gamecube games end up on the eShop at some point, which would be awesome. Still, I keep my Wii around in another room so I can play my GC games with it for now.
