I'm playing wii games on my wii u right now but the graphics are coming across as kinda blocky and not as smooth as the orginal, is this because it's in 1080p or is there another way to hook up my wii u without getting a old TV

That's upscale for you.
Your going from 480p to 1080p. My tv does the same thing and has the same look.
The wii u on comp cables looks better then the wii u , wii emu with hdmi.

Will that make the jaggy edges go away, i have tried to scale it to 720 and 420p but it's still blurry.

What games are you noticing it most on,
I'm using Sony bravia 2 with HDMI and I'm really impressed with the graphics on zombieu

Well, when Wii games are played on an hd tv, they always look fuzzy.So far i am playing resident evil remake and zelda twilight princess and they're both fuzzy/blurry

What an inconvienience (I might've spelt that wrong). Just do what Xile said. Get you old Wii Component Cables, hook it in your WIi U, go to settings,
Change the input cables from HDMI to Non-HDMI, (You don't need to unplug your HDMI if you plan on using it after). There you go! The Wii games won't look as blurry now.

Remake is going to look extra horrible because the 2d pre rendered backgrounds were designed for 480i/p
