What makes you so sure these games are going to top AAA games good enough to go up against Microsoft and Sony's new consoles.

I think Nintendo is smart enough to make sure to have something to go against Sony and Microsoft at the end of the year, theyre constantly analyzing the competition with their credible sources and not ign.com

No my point is we don't know what Sony and Microsoft will have to offer and no we don't know exactly what Nintendo will come up with. I don't think we can assume that whatever Nintendo reveals will blow out the water anything from their competition. Unless they can garner more and better third party support they are going to have a tough time competing against Sony and MS.

Well at, least Nintendo's 3rd party improvement situation is slightly improving. They are actually reaching to developers and want to help fund third party projects. They never did this for the Wii/Cube/64.

We'll see happens in the next few months.

you guys realize Iwata is probably talking about mariokart ans super mario as they haven't had any sort of timeframe announced, they probably have other stuff too, but The way he worded that makes me think think he was at least partial;y referring to them

Oh, ok, nevermind. I misread the quote. The way I read it the first time made it sound like Iwata was speaking about timeframes for games which of course we don't know for super mario and mariokart yet.
