NFC ideas

Understanding that does mean that with the WiiU we don't need a game evolving around a kind of NFC toys as Skylanders does. In the WiiU's case every game can use this tech without having to invest in extra hardware (portal of power).
As said, NFC addons can come in the form of plastic or paper cards, but also as toys.
Imagine that after a game is brought to market DLC will not only be bought via the eShop but also via the extra toys/cards. You can even have cardsets on your livingroom table to random up a play of say MarioKart. Imagine Smash Bros but with Toy compagnions. Or maybe just as aftermarket extra's. Well we see...

Yeah, but you have to keep the toy thing on the Gamepad leaving it flat... no one can play like that...
And plus it can scratch the screen!
Maybe I'm wrong but I was under the impression you just pass it over or just place it on the NFC reader for a few seconds for it to register.

True, it could be done before matches and per user.

So basically... it's gonna be the AR card feature that nintendo 3DS had? That people forgot about after like a year?...

People still use the AR card feature. For example, in Kingdom Hearts DDD, you could use a card that came with the game to unlock new dream eaters.
It could be intergrated better. Imagine buying special pokemon cards to unlock the pokemon in game, where you could level them up. I think that would be cool. Although, I've never really been interested in DLC or NFC, but if they offer some for free I might get into it.
