#275036 "Our rivals did a bad job at all their ports, so we're not even going...

"In all honesty, all the Wii U games I've ever played, the only good ones are the ones that are made specifically for [the Wii U]. And this just doesn't fit," Brunner said.

The Wii U also has a small install base, relative to consoles and PC. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have combined for more than 160 million sales to date, while the Xbox One and PS4 together total more than 8.3 million systems sold worldwide so far. As for the Wii U, that system has sold only 5.86 million units as of December 31.

Gamespot, while combining the competing current-generation console sales, use this as a reason as they themselves see it.
The Developer they talked to at Square-Enix, however claimed that because they weren't going to make the game work properly on the Wii U, they didn't feel like making it at all or the system.

Lazy developers, getting lazier, 2014.

#262716 NeoGaf User Creates Pano Street View from Zombi U... quick LOOK

Posted by Poptartboy on 21 December 2013 - 04:32 PM

Nope it did not. It was unprofitable so they scrapped plans for a sequel.

Half a million sales for a niche horror title on a newly launched system is great. If it was unprofitable that is simply poor management on Ubisoft's side.

#244929 Exactly how much of a downgrade would a PS4 game suffer on Wii U?

Posted by Chrop on 08 September 2013 - 08:28 AM

For a handheld that has been called a powerhouse by many, you'd think it'd be a simple step below a PS3. My point was that you'd definitely see differences if the game was made on the most powerful console, and ported down to the weakest. Fighting game or not.

You make it sound like the PS3 to the vita is as comparable as the PS4 is to the Wii U, they're not, the Vita and PS3 have a wider gap in power compared to the PS4 and Wii U, they bearly even have a gap, ya it has slightly better graphics and ram but they won't be fully utilized until 6 or so years time. They only just managed to get the best out of the PS3 this year, now with the Wii U being more powerful than it, i'd say they will be able to get 5 years with having pretty much the same game on each console before the PS4 games start to have a noticeable difference to the Wii U games.

Actually there wouldn't be any downgrades, unless the publisher wanted there to be.

#181353 Do you think simcity on wii u will ever happen?

No. EA is still butthurt from Nintendo not using their crappy origin.

#175718 Reasons why this forum is imploding

Posted by Nollog on 24 February 2013 - 06:15 PM

Are you talking to me? Because, if I was a Mod... my dreams would be completed.

It's more plausible they meant the Australian Wingman.
I don't have an opinion either way on that.

Make this guy a mod please :D

We should have a vote on people to make new mods, kinda like an election :3

NO.
If that ever happened it'd be a sad day in Nollogton.

Rather than assigning a new admin, how about giving moderators more powers?
As I understand it the mods can't see the logs for the chat?
They don't seem to be able to ip ban people either.

#181149 Resident Evil :Revelations - 3DS vs Console Comparison

Posted by PedanticGamer on 10 March 2013 - 02:07 AM

Youtube is not a good way to compare the amount of crappy compression just makes it near on useless. Just look at crysis 2 maxed out on pc vs console in person then on youtube. Difference is huge in person, small in youtube.

#17841 Nintendo in trouble?

Posted by Pac-1234 on 01 August 2011 - 05:33 PM

It will certainly affect the launch of the Wii U in one way or another. Either by changing the retail price or by offering/removing certain content; However, the though of Nintendo being in trouble is in itself blown out of proportion.Don't take literally everything you read. The media is not the definitive truth. As popular or famous some sites might be, they are not market analysts, it's just a bunch of people giving their opinion on the subject. It is also important to not confuse terms; "Losing profits" is not the same as "Income losses". Nintendo is not losing money, it is merely seeing a reduction in profits it already makes from sales.

Brief and dumb example: During the Wii hot-streak, Nintendo made $10.00 in profits per unit sold.
Today, the Wii sales give Nintendo ONLY $2.00 in profits per unit sold.
An 80% reduction in sales revenue!
                                         An 80% loss in profits!
                                         OVER 50% losses!

Is Nintendo losing money? Not exactly! They are only making less money. They ARE NOT losing money.

#17439 Nintendo in trouble?

They did kind of drop the ball, both with the Wii, this year, and the 3DS launch. It has been something of a drought for games on the Wii and not enough titles were available for the 3DS at launch. That left space for the minor criticisms of the hand-held system to grow and dominate any news about the 3DS. I find it hard to believe that there are very large numbers of people who get bad headaches from quite small amounts of time played on the device, but with almost no other news, this is what gets written about and somewhat exaggerates the extent of the problem,  that doesn't help sales either.

Yet again, in both cases we see demonstrated the old adage; its the games that sell the machines.

#18208 Paid DLC to discourage Spotpass?

Posted by AMAC on 03 August 2011 - 07:48 AM

I don't think that paid DLC would really discourage Spotpass. I think that Spotpass will continue to be used for smaller things, such as costumes or small updates. I think that paid DLC will only be used for bigger things, such as new maps and major updates.
