#57810 WarioWare Wii U

Posted by Gruff on 27 January 2012 - 08:05 AM

Wario Ware for the Wii U would be great! The controller could open many possibilities for this game.

I like the list you came up with compatible controls. But I think you could add another thing that list. The Wii U's camera. There was a Wario Ware from the DSi Shop called Wario Ware Snapped that used the DSi's camera. I bet the Wii U's Wario Ware could use a camera too.

#58004 Dang, there will be lots of people on this website after E3 and WiiU launch

Posted by Lain on 27 January 2012 - 07:59 PM

Oh, well one of the E3's kickstarted it, one of them got it a lot more people
Then a lot jus built up from then.
I don't remember too much though.

That there is a graph depicting the forum's growth (taken from Aether lol). E3 2010 is actually what drove the inception of the forum, but as you can see, it didn't really push growth. Growth started 'round January of 2011, prior to the Japanese launch when David held his pizza party stream. And the worldwide launch pushed everything way up. From that point on, the forum consistently got around 800+ new members a month. But yeah, E3 2011 did experience a small spike with 1200 members joining. I imagine holidays 2011 also experienced a jump in memberships, but I can never really tell since most of these members aren't very active contributors.

#57700 New Wii U news: Wii U will have a individual account system, and more

Posted by 10k on 26 January 2012 - 06:46 PM

On GoNintendo, some of this information is shown.  There, NFC is shown as near field communication.  I have no idea what that is.  I also don't know what is meant by easy settlement.

Also, this information is very interesting and exciting.

Basically it means that instead of synicing the Upad, all you have to do is tap it against the Wii U console and it will sync. Google phones already do this. You can make wireless payments by tapping a mastercard terminal with your Android Phone.

#57203 Xbox 720 to be 20% more powerful then the Wii U

Posted by SSJ3_broly on 25 January 2012 - 07:13 AM

according to this video (assuming the rumors are true) the WII U is actually about twice as strong as the 720

so that would mean the WII U is 11-12 times stronger then the 360

6670 also supports DirectX11 and uses a more sophisticated shader model (something that held back the Wii greatly, not just the fact it wasn't HD). But the 4870 can do more processing at once, fill in more pixels quickly, do things faster and let's not forget the 4870 will be customized to be smaller and produce less heat and use up less energy (probably around 40nm instead of the 55nm), and they may add DirectX11 support. But if you do a straight comparison, the 4870 wins in many benchmarks.

My source:
4870 = 1741 G3D Mark
6670 = 1227 G3D Mark
(Higher Number is better)

http://www.videocard...=Radeon+HD+4870
http://www.videocard...=Radeon+HD+6670

As you can see in the link below, no matter how much VRAM Nintendo dedicates to the 4850 or 4870 (either 512MB or 1GB). The 512MB 4850is most likely if also have 1GB of regular RAM

Ignore the GTX 295, that's my own video card and I got curious :P

http://www.graphicsc...om/page/compare

Also ignore the orange and red bars, you have to include 8 video cards so i just chose randomly. Focus on the 6670 and up (yellow and green)

EDIT: Can't post the pics. Use the website yourselves. Compare the video cards it gives you expected performance % it's awesome.

Even the lowest end 4850 is said to outperform the 6670 by 10.6% (that's the cheapest possible Rv700 card Nintendo could use.)
The mid-range RV700 card the 4870 512GB outperforms the 6670 by 39.4%
The upper-mid range card 4850 1GB outperforms the 6670 by 15.6%
The highest RV700 card the 4870 1GB outperforms the 6670 by 44.3%

#57158 Xbox 720 to be 20% more powerful then the Wii U

Posted by Meelow100 on 24 January 2012 - 08:51 PM

Actually im a little annoyed they didnt put a camera on the back too. in my opion it probably would have been better there alongside a front facing one too though i guess nintendo just wanted to cut cost

20% is hardly a difference and from what i read the gpu in the wii u is stronger the cpu in the 720 is said to be stronger than the wii u though

Yeah I saw a comment and he explained the difference between Wii U and 720 GPU

Wii U Radeon 4850/4870 vs. XBox 720 Radeon 6670

Transistor count in millions: 965 vs. 716
Size in nm (nano meter): 55 vs. 40
Frequency in MHz: 750-800 vs. 800
Shader-Units: 160 vs. 96
GPU-Power in GFLOPs: 1.000-1-280 vs. 768
ROPs: 16 vs. 8
Pixel Fillrate in MPix/s: 10.000-12.800 vs. 6.400
TMUs: 40 vs. 24
TAUs: 40 vs. 24
Shader-Model: SM 4.1 vs. SM 5

As you see, the Wii U's GPU is much better then 720's GPU while the 720's CPU is better then Wii U's CPU.

#56719 Star Fox Wii U (?)

Posted by Gruff on 23 January 2012 - 03:51 PM

YES! I knew it! I had a feeling Retro was going to develop StarFox. I hope this is not just a rumor and it is for real! I can't wait to hear a confirmation for this!
