The Wii U is desperately due for a name change for three major reasons:

1. To prevent a repeat of the confusion that was caused with the 3DS launch where people thought it was another DS revision. To further my claims, many people I spoke too believed that the Wii U is just a slightly modified Wii and that Nintendo has created an image for themselves of hardware revisions. This could cause disaster for Nintendo's shareholders.

2. The name Wii U is not only a disservice to Nintendo fans; many casual people feel that the name is a joke. In North America and Europe the name is often referred too as a sexual innuendo.

3. The Wii brand does not at all serve what the Wii U does. In fact the Wii U primarily targets the hardcore as well as blending in the casual. The Wii pushed unwillingly pushed away the hardcore, there for the Wii brand is a very weak brand to market to the mass core gamers.

I strongly suggest that Nintendo renames the Wii U at their E3 press conference on June 5th if the core gamers are as important as they once claimed them to be. There are tons of great names to choose from, so listen to you fans and give the Wii U a name that it so willingly deserves.
Of course the name is not at all up to me though I suggest the name Nintendo "Nexus" as it would represent the online portal that many third developers speak so highly of.

Swearing is against TheWiiU.com's rules. You shouldn't be doing it anyway - and a pony-themed swear filter is all the more reason for you to not do it. ;P

(you might not actually believe this, but I implemented the pony-themed swear filter well over a year ago, long before I even knew about MLP:FiM)

IP.Board only allows the swear filter to be controlled globally. It is impossible to toggle it on a per-user basis, as your post is processed and filtered for swear words before being saved into the database.

Red is my absolute favorite color, but the red Wii U logo just doesn't feel right... Also the red LED and boxart... Nah.

The only thing I would disagree about was how you said that you disliked the dialogue. I found that really unique and quite funny.

Really i didn't know the site existed until now. So really i never joined. I prefer the wii u go anyways.

Wii 2 Blog is Wii U Go. The site had a name change when the Wii U was announced in June 2011, but it had existed as Wii 2 Blog since September 2010.

It's kind of awesome how Wii U Go and this forum are about 1.5 years old already, even though the Wii U is still many months away.

Okay guys, can we come to an agreement to not have topic titles that are vague, cryptic or completely unrelated. It's really starting to irk me as a constant user of the Wii U Forums.

What I mean is, can we have topic titles that are straight to the point. I can't speak on everyone's behalf, but I really find it annoying that I have to look into the OP to find out what the topic is supposed to be about.

There is the other thing. When a person posts a piece of information regarding the Wii U, people have a habit of using 'More news' or something to that effect. Can we at least date these topics, because if they all have the same name and for some reason or other someone's trying to find a specific topic in a pile of similarly named topics... you get what I mean.

Point being: If you make a topic, at least make the title direct and distinguishable.

This is more of a rant than a suggestion or feedback, and I doubt the ability to enforce such things. Just hopefully, seeing topics properly named will prevent troll topics in future.

Nintendo's Investor Meeting is in a few days and I'm wondering what do you want Nintendo to announce about the Wii U?.

Mine would be

• Name Change confirmed
• Give more info about Nintendo Network on the Wii U
• Maybe announce some new games coming to Wii U
• Announce the Wii U is getting huge third party support
• Wii U much more powerful then current HD consoles (I really don't think they would announce that until E3 2012 but It's wishful thinking lol)
• Might as well just announce E3 2012 Conference date and time (most likely June 5th at 9:00)

I have a Wii, and a PS3. And an old NES and SNES. (Pretty retro for a 15 year old.) I still think the retro consoles like SNES and N64 had the best games myself. I've found them much more original yet still surprisingly well done.

Nice to see another retrogamer around my age ( I'm 13).  So many people don't realiz the awesomeness of retro games.
