#182624 If you were the boss of Nintendo, how would you reply to this letter?

Hi there,

I'm sorry but I don't read a wall of text. If you resend that letter but broken down to readable paragraphs then I will respond to you.

Sincerely

Satoru Iwata
CEO of Nintendo Co. Ltd."

#181593 Why are people doubting Wii U now because of PS4?

Posted by Kao on 11 March 2013 - 07:51 AM

Ooh, 12 year old got a dictionary? I did say "IF THAT'S TRUE". I take it its not then? Surely there must have been a politer way to put me straight, sheesh!

Hey! Not every 12 year old is like him. (However most are) I like nintendo the most with all their games! Plus, I can't play stuff like cod, so 3rd party support is not that important for me. (Doesn't count for RPG)

#171775 Google Maps with Street View now live on Nintendo's Wii U eShop

Posted by Gamejunkie on 15 February 2013 - 10:18 AM

Good news, something new to play with but I'm getting tired of not getting any of these here in the UK. We're still waiting for TVii, which I could understand as we have different stations, but now we have to wait for this which has no regional differences.

I guess you haven't actually looked on the e-shop then as it was released in the UK the same time as the US. I'm in the UK and downloaded it on my Wii U.

#155803 Which accessories to buy?

Just to let you know, Nintendo plans on releasing Wii Fit U sometime this year. So you can always wait for that version to come out, though Nintendo does plan on making a version that doesn't come with the Balance Board.

Also, there are some games in Nintendo Land that do use the nunchuck in them. So I'd recommend buying some of those as well. So as long as you have four Wii remotes and four nunchucks, you'll have full multiplayer capabilities in both NSMBU and Nintendo Land.

Some alternate games I'd recommend include Scribblenauts Unlimited, Epic Mickey 2 ( not for everyone), Skylanders Giants, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, Mighty Switch Force HD ( downloadable) and ZombiU.

If you plan on buying Virtual Console games from the Wii Mode, then you should get a Classic Controller Pro ( there's also a regular Classic Controller, but it lacks grips for your hands) ( not to be confused with the Pro Controller). Since it's the only way to play non NES Virtual Console games in Wii Mode. The Classic Controller can also be used with Wii U games such as Skylanders Giants, CoD Black Ops 2, and Sonic Racing Transformed. Some Wii games it works with include Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii.

The Pro Controller currently doesn't work with many games, and only works with Wii U games. But some games that ( or will) support it include Trine 2, CoD Black Ops 2, Rayman Legends, Sonic Racing, Skylanders Giants, and for the multiplayer in ZombiU.

If you plan on downloading many games from the Wii U eShop, I'd recommend a USB hard drive. Also, if you plan on downloading games in Wii Mode, I recommend an SD card. As the memory given for Wii Mode is very minimal.

As for Wii accessories. The Wii Wheel and Wii Zapper aren't really used for anything. The Wii Wheel is only used for Mario Kart Wii and the original Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing  ( both Wii games, the former has a wheel bundled with it). While the Wii Zapper only supports one notable game, Link's Crossbow Training ( which is also bundled in).

Also, here's a guide to what works on the Wii U, and what works on Wii Mode. ( You can always look at the top right of a Wii game case, or the bottom of a Wii U case to see what controllers that game supports).

Wii Remote = Works with Wii and certain Wii U software
Nunchuck = Works with certain Wii and Wii U software
Classic Controller/Classic Controller = Works with certain Wii and Wii U software
Pro Controller = Works with certain Wii U software
Gamepad = Works with Wii U software

#154387 swearing @.?~# on the wii U

I hate bad language in games. I never used to but having kids around makes you more aware of it and now I'm not keen on it at all. I started playing GTAIV and could only stomach 30 minutes of the constant barrage of bad language, I haven't played it since

Gore and stuff, the kids love it and find it fun like blowing zombies to pieces in house of the dead etc.. but kids should definitely not be around swearing,
i guess it's a parent thing. Then again, the way some of the yobs are being dragged up nowadays must be force fed the stuff

I'm the same way.  Me personally, bad language does not bother me.  However, I don't want my daughter subjected to it when she gets old enough to play with the Wii U.  In fact, one of my reasons for purchasing a Wii U instead of the new Xbox or PlayStation, is for a more kid friendly environment.  And I understand, that I can't protect her from foul language always... But I'll try to do my best to prevent unnecessary foul listening.

#142954 ZombieU too intense?..

I can only play this in about 30 minute blocks of time because I scare very easily and i just cant handle it for too long :P

And it may or may not have made me scream like a little girl :P
