In the middle of April of last year, a week or so after I joined this forum, I entered the chatroom. Though there weren't usually members in chat at the time, there were a few, and I talked to them for a few hours. I stood up way later than I usually did, because of the pure fun I was having. A few weeks later, I entered the chatroom again. Again, I met people with the same interests as me, and I talked it up with them for hours, but this time, I continued going on chat every night.
It became a daily ritual for me to visit the chatroom. From then up until present time, I looked forward to spending time with fellow members every night on chat. We talked about the obvious, (video games, anime, TV, etc.) but I even found myself having very personal conversations. Then, at about the end of the year, certain members started to stir up trouble. At the time, the forums were so inexperienced from dealing with people like this, but we pulled through. But, it only got worse.
As you can see, chat is now removed. It's gotten to that point. I'm really sad to see it go. The people I met there, the experiences we went through, everything up to this point, it didn't feel like it was online. I felt as if I knew every single one of these people in real life. I'm grateful for everything that's happened there.

Okay I was just a little curious but I wanted to know my popularity on the forums!

If they required actual effort, it would work, but just photoshopped images shouldn't count.

To be fair, cramming a quad-core processor with comparable performance to the PS3's Cell processor into a slim little device is quite an achievement. I find it hard not to call that, at the very least, groundbreaking. But it's not got any groundbreaking new technology.
Wonderfully said, AMAC. But I would like to add that the 3DS is just as capable of reproducing a console experience. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is the perfect example of that, though Super Street Fighter IV and Dead or Alive: Dimensions are brilliant titles, too. All three of them deliver a very meaty "full console experience", in my mind.To be fair, that was quite a reasonable article for Jack Tretton's standards. For once he hasn't actually criticised any Nintendo or Microsoft products. The PSP did do quite a lot to change handheld gaming; It was the first handheld that could do realistic graphics and they were hardly going to mention that the DS outsold it in that article. The PS Vita is also pretty ground-breaking, in the sense that it is a handheld that can reproduce a console experience, The multi touch pad could also turn out to be a great innovation.

Spoiler
Consider for a moment that every main-series Mario platformer we've ever seen has been made to take advantage of its system's strengths. Super Mario 64 re-imagined Mario's world in full 3D on Nintendo's first console that could handle that. Super Mario Sunshine took advantage of the GameCube's raw power to deliver massive, sprawling, beautiful worlds and lots of puzzles built around its water physics. The two Galaxy games could not have happened without the Wii Remote's pointer.
Following that pattern, it's only logical to assume that Super Mario U will be tailored to deliver an experience conceptualized for the Wii U, and nothing but. The main things the Wii U has going for it are its HD graphics (and horsepower beyond any console on the market right now) and the touchscreen controller (possibly online, too, but I'm not gonna count on that yet for hopefully obvious reasons). I'm having a hard time imagining how the touchscreen could really further the Mario experience, but there is so much potential in the number-crunching side of the system, I'm surprised there isn't more speculation about it.
Think about this for a moment: the Wii U, with its 25 GB discs and processing power, has the ability to bring us a fully realized Mushroom Kingdom. It would be a natural evolution of the non-linear gameplay of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine; except that the entire world could now be realized as one continuous entity - no level select screens, no loading, nothing. Imagine being dropped in front of Peach's castle, with Mario's entire world waiting to be explored. You could travel to different towns, meet NPC's, perform errands for them, and also do whatever the game uses to track your progress (not sure if collecting Power Stars would still work).
Yes, it would be mashing Mario together with gameplay elements of Zelda and Metroid, but I can't see how that's a bad thing. It would certainly be a "riskier" Mario game for Nintendo to produce, but really no more so than Zelda: Skyward Sword. The idea of an open-world Mushroom Kingdom would be taking full advantage of at least one of the Wii U's defining traits - something that the Mario series is well known for. Now, Nintendo and the industry as a whole have been moving towards more linear, guided experiences so I don't know how good the chances of an open-world Mario game ever coming to fruition really are. But come on, it would be like GTA with Yoshis, power-ups, and Nintendo's amazing art teams. Who wouldn't want that?
