Wii U overall!

19 March 2013 - 07:36 PM

What a lot of people don't understand while complaining about Wii U's overall performance and games is that IT IS BRAND NEW LET ME REPEAT BRAND NEW! Remember when 360 and Ps3 came out how long loading times were and how sub par the games looked? It took the Entire lifespan of Ps3 and 360 to make games that looked real good and to get the consoles to run to their max potential. That same thing goes for Wii U. Nintendo pushed Wii U out so we could have a new Christmas console so of course all the bugs weren't ironed out. Guaranteed the second gen Wii U games will be much better and once we get these updates this year your going to see this console do some amazing things. Rayman legends will be a perfect example of how awesome this console will be. Don't get me wrong I'm pissed they delayed our version too but honestly its for the best. I would rather play that full game after the updates and after they get the console where it should be. Too sum it all up you can expect great things from this console beginning later this year but you won't see full potential till mid to end life. Just an opinion any comments or thoughts I would love to hear some opinions on this.

Wii U multi component issue (hdmi+av etc.)

11 February 2013 - 04:28 PM

So like a million other Wii U users I found out very quickly that you could not use an Hdmi cord while using an Av cord for surround. This was a real pain for me given that my tv only does Dvi so I had to use a hdmi to dvi converter to get hi def. Problem is that sound doesn't follow that process while converting to dvi. So I began to tinker and what I came across more or less solved my problem given that Nintendo probably never will. So first I started with the Wii U. I put in my Hdmi but no sound because of the whole dvi thing. So I used a headphone to audio( red and white splitter) from the game pad directly into the surround sound unit. That gave me full surround sound for the Wii U while using Hdmi. So I thought that's great but it won't be able to work for the Wii channel because I don't use the gamepad during Wii mode....... Wrongo your traditional Av cord will not work but a Component cable does. So if you have your Hdmi plugged in for your hi def or 1080i upscaling you can also at the same time have a Wii component cable plugged into the Wii U and through your surround sound unit and then you get your 1080i plus full surround sound for Wii mode. Note for this process I kept the Wii setting on stereo. Don't believe that surround setting works for this. I know it kind of involves a lot of wires you probably don't have lying around but this process does work any questions or comments on an easier more effective way are welcome.
