Sitting and waiting
Waiting for nothing 
As nothing will await me 

On the curb I wait
Wait for something 

Some hope
Some kindness 


And for a moment,
A brief moment
A flicker of hope is there waiting 

Then, I look behind me
And see the remains and ashes
The ashes of all that I ever was

The dead corpse of my memories 

I sit back down
Waiting 

Waiting for nothing
