This might be a bit obscure to some members on this forum.  X-COM is a great strategy game from the '90's, with all the cheese you could ask for.  This takes that cheese and makes it better than awesome.

I mostly post on 3DSforums.com, but I've participated and lurked on a few others.

Civfanatics has an awesome community (their daily activity regularly goes over 4000 users) and a pretty great off-topic section, which is primarily political stuff.  I'm a member of the Steam forums, but I rarely post there.  I've considered joining the MS Paint Adventures boards, but their threads grow so long, so fast, that it's intimidating.

So yeah, pretty much just gaming forums.  I would join a political forum, but I find the dedicated ones are usually filled with really rude users.  I can usually get my fill of political discussion somewhere else.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the device can only "record" and "play back" memories, not create new ones.  That makes it sound like mind control is still out of the question.  The ability to recover lost memories sounds revolutionary, though.  I know there's a lot of stuff I've forgotten; at least, I think there is.
