Hi,
My Wii U has just downloaded and installed the latest update, and ever since it has refused to switch into Wii mode. It doesn't matter whether I choose TV or TV and Gamepad mode, I just get the message;
The Wii menu could not be opened.
Change the TV display to the Wii U console and select Try Again.
The Wii U screen will need to be displayed on the TV until the Wii Menu opens
Cancel / Try Again
I'm sorry, I may not be a Wii expert, but that message doesn't exactly give me any clues as to what I'm supposed to do to fix it 
My setup is pretty standard, just an HDMI connection to a JVC flat screen TV. Does anyone know how I can get the Wii menu to work???
