Mr. Tanaka's actual metroid theme, with proper arrangement. Almost completely forgotten now, and when not, NEVER arranged properly anymore...

My preferred arrangement of terras theme/wanderer of time. Nobuo Uematsu's personal arrangement.

He said he had to write two themes for Terra/Tina, because of how dynamically she changed over the course of the game... Unfortunately, square has lost so many people who were involved in making these greats, thats no longer remembered, and the only Terra they represent is the weak, frail, amnesiaic, slave controlled, submissive, squeaky voice terra, an extreme exaggeration of her personality after waking from the slave crown, and losing her will to fight after the world ended, represented by soft flutes, pretty chimes, and zero contrast.

It was the dissidia games that finally completely did it for me. Oh I loved them, but their God Awful character assassination of Terra just left me painfully aware, they had no clue who the character was anymore. They took a small part of her, and made it the ONLY part of her. And now it bothers me to be reminded of it...

Guess it bummed out Mr. Uematsu as well, (and long before I caught on). At least enough to personally oversee the arrangement of several songs of the philharmonic events.

#281309 Yoshida Highlights Brushes With Miiverse Law

Posted by 3Dude on 14 April 2014 - 02:55 AM in General Gaming

I had trouble with WiiFit U. In that game everybody can create a Gym Community and ask friends to join that community. The community is tagged with a Community number. It's in exactly the same format as the friends numbers. So, when communicating your gym on Miiverse, you get banned.

My question is:
If the reason for Nintendo's strict ruling is the protection of children, and keeping Miiverse a safe place....why do they promote kids (and all other users) to communicate their friends and community codes via extern media. Forums are much darker places on the internet. I'd rather see my kids using miiverse (including code-communication) then my kids traveling to a place like WiiUforums with its diverse user group.

Because Nintendo isnt legally accountable for what happens on the outside.

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for liking this game and it's soundtrack, but I love this game and soundtrack. :)

Its a great game, and one of the best entries in the cinematic genre, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, far more than their uncharted offerings offerings. Although the hyperbolic nonsense that the thinly veiled pr machine known as gamz girnolism is doing its damn best to sour me on it as quickly as possible... It is NOT 'The culmination of all of gamingdom' blargh.

I found the music exceptionally well done, and fitting, but nothing really stood out to me.

I understand...yet it is hypocrite.

Well, thats what happens when you have stupid people targeting Nintendo for frivolous lawsuits like 'My child was attacked by an online predator via pictochat on ds!!!!!'* BECAUSE of that family image, and places like fox and abc news running with it full speed with not a single attempt at fact checking.

* (Pictochat DS was non online capable.)

This is a reaction to things people have done.

#281317 Adam Sessler leaves Rev3 Games, starts consultancy firm

That's stupid. If it's a corpse it's already dead. Who would waste time removing tumors? Unless you just want it to look good for the burial? But assuming modern gaming is dead then what era of gaming are we in?

That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die. The Corpse God may rise again, provided we scrape off all the parasites and cancers leeching off its power.

We are in the marketing conglomerate controlled dark ages.

Zero's Theme: Megaman Zero Arrangement

Had to find a play of the first level because the way they used this music back then was so great. EVERYBODY remembered zeros music from MMX. It was awesome. As soon as Zero is resurrected his theme starts playing and it is ON. That music made the intro to that game. Hell, the whole series.

#281332 Last of Us PS4 trailer

90% of the trailer is spent masturbating to bs gamz girnolizm pr, souring my memories of a great game experience via not goodly impossible hype, and the rest of the 10% spoils an important game scene.

0/10.

#281370 Capcom respond to PS4/Xbone by investing $78 milllion in R&D

Posted by 3Dude on 14 April 2014 - 03:42 PM in General Gaming

Hate to break this too you. But these new buildings ARE NOT For ps4/Xbone

' the popularity of social games
due to the widespread use of smartphones
is enabling games to reach more user
segments and enlarging the entire game
market.'

' more powerful development
capabilities in the rapidly growing mobile
content and PC online games markets.'

They are blowing another huge wad of cash they dont have on mobile and social games, trying to 'monetize and retain virility in consumer whales'.

This is another attempt at cashing in on mobile crap. Not going back to real games.

#281372 Capcom respond to PS4/Xbone by investing $78 milllion in R&D

Posted by 3Dude on 14 April 2014 - 03:47 PM in General Gaming

"The appearance of next-generation consoles with a variety of network functions has shifted the focus of sales from conventional package software to digitally distributed content,"Capcom said."The profit structure and business model are changing at an increasing speed as a result. Furthermore, the popularity of social games due to the widespread use of smartphones is enabling games to reach more user segments and enlarging the entire game market."

Yeah, they are going to offer their mobile/social games as downloadable software on multiple platforms, like ps4/xbone.

Unless you think switching to the mobile business model and expanding it means something other than switching to the mobile business model and expanding it.

#281462 Metroid series director wants to quit metroid work on new IP's

Posted by 3Dude on 15 April 2014 - 01:10 PM in General Gaming

Uh, this is nothing new.

Sakamoto has always defined himself by doing new and different things.

Metroid is also a result of that (and kid ilarus was a contingency plan in case a a 2d shooter sidescroller with NO LEVELS was a complete disaster.

Yoshio sakamoto is also the mind behind baloon fight, Wario, yes, land, world, wario ware, X (1992)
, Galactic pinball, Metroid prime pinball, Picross ds, Rythm heaven, and the original tomidachi back in 2009, before other m.

This kind of stuff is par for the course from Sakamoto.

Doing 'new and different and unexpected' is something that comes out of sakamotos mouth every time hes interviewed, no matter how many years you go back. Like say 2003.

www.webcitation.org/5zbF1Z8uq

But hooray for idiot gamz girnoliz spreading misinformation via their incompetence and being SO DAMN STUPID they dont even realize he JUST REPEATED THE SAME KIND OF ANSWERS HE GAVE THEM THE LAST TIME CVG INTERVIEWED HIM IN 2003.

#281600 ONM: Sonic Boom New Info (Wii U/3DS)

Posted by 3Dude on 16 April 2014 - 03:55 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I just hope that this does not feel like generic adventure game in the style of Knack. I do hope it offers some compelling gameplay, and builds on the good found in Sonic's previous outings.

Somehow, I expect Uncharted with a Sonic mod to come from this. Throw in generic combat, and voila.

This is OG naughty dog staff wise. I would set your sensors more on Jak and daxter 1 and 2 rather than uncharted.

Looks more like a level 3-4 Open world adventure game, like Jak and Daxter... But with sonic.
