That is exactly my thoughts...Why would you need this on a home console? On a portable one yeah but to me this is pointless......

I fail to see a real benefit to having Google Maps on the System. It is not like the GamePad can be taking out of the house. obviously it is handy on a mobile device.
#144235 New Update right now?!
Posted by One_Jay on 05 December 2012 - 05:06 PM in Wii U Hardware
Even if the current upate is only "further improvements to overall system stability & Other minor adjustments have been made to enhance user experience.
I would really like that addition at somepoint.

Every new console has its problems and it takes time for it to eventually turn into a stable system.
#142020 Wii U GamePad Home Button Blue Light Useless
Posted by One_Jay on 02 December 2012 - 07:50 AM in Wii U Hardware
A section in settings allowing you to personally select which notifications you want the home button to be used for would be best.
I am not sure about having on-screen pop-ups, but i would still enjoy it as i know i would miss someone signing on - But it should be optional unlike that other system.
Hopefully Nintendo somehow stumble across this suggestion.

The update went smoothly for myself on launch day, which is something i was not expecting after hearing some of the storys about it being 5GB and that it takes upto 3+ hours. Took Less than a hour for myself.

I fully expect the next update Nintendo make will be quite a major one (Maybe a bigger one than the 1.2GB day one patch) to try and solve most of the issues everyone has experianced over the past wee while.
Hopefully this will solve your issue.

Might be something todo with the signal type which is required for functioning the TV mode on the gamepad. But i personally have no idea.
I presume you setup the gamepad to control your TV.
I have so far not experianced that, contact Nintendo Support.

I wonder if Virgin Media will have a workaround for customers.
