I kinda like the idea of this game, its more an avoid-em-up than a shoot-em-up, but will need a demo or good reviews for me to buy it coz by the previews I've read so far the game doesn't sound promising. Although it is zombies. And zombies are still cool.

My local 99p store (Southend on sea) has component leads for the wii, that's the wii NOT WiiU for 99p! Thought I'd mention it incase anyone here is an Essex boy or girl and doesn't have thier Wii hooked up that way. I've only got the WiiU so was no good for me, but might b useful for someone else.

Oh yea Blinx is cool, I played the demo but never got round to buying the full game. Some very nice character models in that.
Before I buy the component are you 100% sure I will get at least 480p on a PAL?

yep at least 480p. Definitely looks clearer n sharper. Wow just checked on eBay the leads are only about a tenner! Shhweet! Might have to track down an Xbox myself now lol!

Running your Xbox through a component cable makes it look a lot better, its how I had mine hooked up back in the day, check eBay see if anyone got one on there, well worth it. As for games it depends what sort you like but ones I enjoyed were KOTOR 1&2 , FABLE, JADE EMPIRE, PANZA DRAGOON ORTA, BLINX THE TIME SWEEPER( I think that was what it was called, most people didn't seem to rate it back in the day, but I liked it.).

I disagree. Judging by the presentation of the game at E3 last year as well as the recent Sony press conference the game was definitely developed for next gen systems and high end PC's first and foremost. I suspect it will look significantly better on the PS4, high end PC's and likely the Xbox successor then on the PS3, Xbox 360 and also better then on the Wii U.

Maybe so but then a console doesn't have the overheads of a crappy OS like Windows either. I think you give far more credit to the PC platform them it deserves and dedicated, closed systems like consoles can in many ways give better results then a PC. The problem with PC's is that there are so many variations and configurations which is their downside.

On another note I don't know where all these complaints about people complaining there aren't enough third party games and when one is announced they will end up buying it on a different platform comes from. Personally I've never complained about the lack of third party support on the Wii U. What I have done is made observations of how it is, why Nintendo isn't doing well with the Wii U and what they need to do to change things around. Personally I'm not bothered about the level of third party support on the Wii U. Nintendo consoles since the GameCube have never been my primary gaming platform most likely never will be. My main reason for buying them is the first party games. That said if a third party game is significantly better on the Wii U I will get it on that but if not I will but it on another gaming platform. I fully intend on buying a PS4 and the Xbox successor and if a particular game I want is better on those then I will buy it for one of those systems. The quality of the games and game playing experience is what counts as far as I'm concerned and not the platform its on.

Same here, if its great on wiiu but better on one of the others I'll be getting the better version. Apart from the PC version, coz I don't own a PC.

I think Watchdogs will be a good example of just how the wiiu stacks up graphically against other consoles, as its being released on pretty much everything ( wiiu ,360 and 720 , ps3 & 4 ). Once the usual batch of graphics comparison vids (360 vs ps3 type of thing) are released after the games launch we'll have our answer. Assuming the wiiu version is built specifically for the wiiu from the ground up and not just a 360 port or whatever.

I liked what I heard and saw during the announcement thingy, but there's one thing stopping me buying a ps4 and it's rather stupid,it's that I hate the dualshock controller! I've hated all PlayStation controllers since the ps1, they just feel wrong to me when I'm holding them. The Xbox controller o the other hand feels really comfortable. So unless Microsoft really screw up thier new console or someone releases an Xbox style controller for ps4 I'll probably stick with WiiU and get a 720 to go with it.

I think what's confusing me is the fact the speed is 1.6ghz where as the 360's is 3.2ghz, I can't get my head around slower speed,even if it's doing more,is an improvement? It's obviously capable looking at the games shown for the ps4 which has a similar cpu (right?)but still seems weird and confusing to me.

I really don't understand all the tech mumbo jumbo about console cpus and gpus, can't get my head around how the Xbox360 has a cpu which has 3 cores (whatever they are) which runs at 3.2ghz and the 720 possibly has 8 cores at 1.6ghz, More cores but half the speed, how is that better?! Can someone please explain it all to me but keep it simple, imagine you're explaining it to a simpleton! I've read the WiiU cpu topics on here but it all sounds like gibberish to me, "gtgjifdcgybjfr 1.4ghz cbftjjhgdfbh ram buffer deghjhfgbjffghamsandwich". It just doesn't make sense to me!?!

Gotta wait n see what Microsoft shows b4 that descision can be made. So far I have a 360 and WiiU, ONE of those WILL go once both new consoles have been announced to be replaced with one of the new ones, but until both have been officially announced and thier games shown the choice cannot be made.

As excited as I now am about ps4, I'm gonna sit back and see what Microsoft and nintendo hit back with b4 deciding which systems to buy / keep. Bet both are a tad worried now though. Microsoft coz thier new machine allegedly is weaker than the ps4 so they'll Need to prove whatever Sony do they can do better or at least as well despite whatever differences in specs between the 2 and nintendo coz they've kept everything so close to thier chests that they'll have to show something REALLY special, that they have a ton of 3rd party developer support, and Tbh graphically amazing games to keep the U on gamers radar. (I know y'all say graphics aren't important but that's not true for a lot of gamers, me included. A game needs to be fun n play well but I also want it to look amazing especially on next gen machines).

Sure enough if you are looking at flops or simd, whetstones performance, its not up to snuff compared to 360 (then again neither is durango) If you are talking dhrystones, gl gamecode, ai, tricky branchy stuff, espresso mauls xenon like a polar bear mauls a baby seal wrapped in bacon.
