Look at the Wii. The only redesign they made is removing GameCube functionality, and that didn't happen until they were ready to drop the price of the unit significantly and use the removal of said functions as a cost saving measure. The same could be applied to the Wii U in regards to Wii backwards compatibility, but I really don't see that happening because of the need to support Wii games (after all, it is the Wii U.) Plus, the new eShop is sure to contain games written for the Wii that will be playable on the Wii U. Removing Wii backwards compatibility would really hinder the progress they've made so far. I have a hard time believing that they'd do a Wii U revision. I think it's more likely they'll come out with a bunch of different colored systems and I'll be jealous enough to double dip when a color of my liking drops. (I also hope we have a choice between white and black systems at launch!)

I think the Wii U graphics are impressive just for the simple fact of the size of the console! I dunno about you guys, but I was pretty impressed by how tiny the Wii was when it came out, and the visual fidelity it was able to produce, but the Wii U is taking what is rumored to be a similar/beefier 360 CPU/GPU configuration and putting it in a very small, minimalistic, attractive form factor.

I usually invite the guys over after work to watch the E3 conferences. I can probably get away with not getting any spoilers through the work day, and be ready to watch them in the evening. I think we'll get pizza this year, and enjoy a night of exciting announcements!

Yes that would be great but they need more of a hardcore 1st party launch game. As of right now I'm looking to get assassin creed 3 which looks awesome and believe it or not killer freaks from outer space. Something about the game I like.... This is hoping that graphics are hughly improved over E3 showing.

$299 sounds right to me. If they need to charge more, then so be it, I'm gonna buy the damned thing anyway, but $299 sounds like a good price point, if they can hit it. You can get a PS3 for $249, a 360 for $199 or $299 for Kinect. If Nintendo could hit $299, I think it would really hit hard for the initial sales. I surely wouldn't want to get a PS3/360 when I could get a newer, next gen console for about the same amount of money.

I want Nintendo Network to rival Xbox Live. I already pay for Xbox Live, and I wouldn't mind paying $50/yr to Nintendo for similar functionality. I want to be able to chat with my friends, play games with them, invite them to games, and get invited to theirs. I don't want to have to deal with codes and garbage to just play with my buddies. We're sure to see some info on this as we get closer to E3, so I'm excited to hear more about what Nintendo has in store for us.

Personally, I'd like to see a Super Mario 64 caliber 3D Mario game as a launch title. A high-def revisit to the Mushroom Kingdom. I think that it would sell well, be a technical showpiece for the system, and hell- It's a Mario game at launch! When was the last time we saw a Mario game at launch?

Wii U name change (I still like Super Wii, or calling it the new system NES again).
Big 3rd party support, perhaps even a Call of Duty on stage appearance.
Nintendo Network information and a SAME DAY system update for 3DS, allowing for your 3DS Friend Code to be attached to a much easier to use Nintendo Network ID.
First party launch window titles announced.
Release date: November 18, 2012. Price: $299
