what?? no.. i bought ps3 because of games... if specs were the main thing, i would upgrade my pc instead.. but i didn't..
I guess you're part of the 1%
A LOT of people just go "Xbox has better graphics" even though there are only marjonal differences or "ps3 has x, y and z in the specs which make it better" but very little actually think about what those things. To some extent the blu-ray and free online subscription sold me on the PS3
I either choose a console based on games (exclusives) I want, what I can do with the console, and quality/brand loyalty. For example I got a cube because of the Resident Evil remake, but got a Playstation 2 because of the brand and the games library, I got a Wii because it blew me away as far as function (even though before it was announced I swore I'd never get another nintendo console again, cause of the cube), and I got a PS3 because it felt like a high quality machine + blu-ray oh and again brand loyalty.
I'm tempted by the Wii U because of the new controller, but this time I need to know that it's next gen ready as I already have an HD gaming console with a vast games library, I need to know in 2 or 3 years time that any advanced games will be portable, I don't care if the graphics are downgraded, so long as It can handle downscaled ports.
It's also true that certain age-groups depend on their parents for the console, and usually their wallets veer toward the Nintendo consoles
